Could you test it with update 6696? Please submit undetected samples or not blocked urls to ESET as per the instructions here.
Should you need to discuss detection or a different subject further, please create a new thread for it so that we don't talk about different topics in one thread.

+1 and I must say this is the first time in 3 years that I am actually considering switching to another product. Let me explain please.

I purchased NOD32 AV more than 2 years ago. At the time I was operating Vista 32-bit Home Premium. Used NOD32 4.0 and, later on, 4.2 versions on it. No problems, apart from some very minor issues.

7 months ago I reformatted and installed Win 7 64-bit Home Premium. Installing NOD32 4.2 64-bit did not produce any issues at all.

At this point I must stress that among other SOHO uses, I've been playing online for the last 14 months with Battlefield Bad Company 2. Not a single problem with NOD32.

Battlefield 3 was released more than a month ago. And again, not a single issue (AFAIK) with NOD32 4.2 64-bit

Then yesterday I installed v 5, mainly on the promise of cloud-based scanning and automatic game mode, to speed map loading etc. No other system changes at all. Results:

    1) In 4 hours of gaming, Battlefield crashed more than 5 times. Forcing game mode to be on, did not help.

    2) I've received tons of stuttering while playing, characteristic of network jitter/latency issues. At the same moments, my team on teamspeak did not have any issues at all. Some of them are even on the same DSLAM as I do. Yes, the chances of only my connection having an issue can not be eradicated, then again I believe being a system administration professional, than it is rather slim...

On paper, NOD32 5 seems impressive. In practice, I have had so many problems on areas I wouldn't have any issues. I have reported the issue via the program's report functionality, but tbh I do not expect an answer. Customer support has never been ESET's strong point (a couple of issues encountered over the last 26 months that were reported from within the program, were never answered at all). I'll be going back to 4.2 like a bat out of hell. :/

I couldn't even get v5 activated.. I had to go back to v4 .. it accepts my username and password perfectly.. I don't expire till Nov 2012, yet v5 wouldn't work.

I figure if they can't even get that right.... what else under the hood is wrong?

I'd suggest contacting Customer care on this who will be happy to assist you. There is some security software (mainly from HP) known to cause activation to fail. After uninstalling it, our users were able to activate v5.

    Just some additional info:
    1) As (unfortunately I) expected, my support request to Eset was not answered
    2) After switching to NOD 4.2 and playing intensively (my son was more than eager to do the testing here), I did not manage to produce a single fault. Happy with 4.2 and will stick with it till my license expires.

Count me as another who reverted back to v4. After installing v5 the amount of time it took for the ten news sites I open first thing daily (using Firefox loading all sites in tabs simultaneously) just about doubled. Also, random images on several of the pages would not load at all. Tried the same sites using tabs with Google Chrome and got the same result.

This never happened with v4 and immediately ceased once I reverted to v4.

Not at all thrilled with v5.

Another satisfied customer using ESET Smart Security 5 (always latest version), installed on three machines running Win 7 x64 no issues at all.

For those experiencing issues have you submitted memory dumps, SysInspector logs etc. to Marcos?
