they made it too easy for them, they should have shredded 1000 documents and then seen how fast they could put them together!

Paper+fire=win. Shredders have never been the best way to get rid of documents.

They have only used a standard consumer grade shredder though.... the ones I've used in defence sites here (Australia) produce fragments of paper under a mm wide, and probably only 5mm long.... good luck with those!

Actually you can easily make an efficient shredder. Casual ones cut paper in thin ribbons. If you'd use ribbon + blender type blade, there would be no way of recovering aynthing if the end result is mashed paper mass.

It is MUCH EASIER to run the document under HOT WATER and crinkle it up;flush it down toilet!

Add shredded confetti and water in a blender and puree.

Why shred it when you can burn it?

Interesting. The article doesn't say but the picture implies they used a cross cut shredder.
At my last company, confidential document receptacles were placed throughout the building. These had padlocks on them and when full were picked up and delivered to a document destruction company. Never heard how they destroyed them but I always assumed they burned it.

Dude111 is not far off. A Google search turned up a company that delivers confidential documents directly to paper mills where it is dumped into pulpers which are basically gigantic blenders filled with hot alkaline water. Peroxide is added to the slurry to bleach out anything with color and then it is turned into bright white recycled paper.
    Reconstruct that!
