Always the same Prevx 3.0 or WSA Essentials! There's nothing lighter or faster!

Bitdefender Total Security 2012. Liking this one, a lot. Runs light(ish), has many modules and with the Auto Pilot mode on, I don't see a single popup. Not even to tell me the database has updated. I added Shadow Defender yesterday which combined with BD is looking like a nice combo.

Would love to find a deal for Shadow Defender.

Currently running only KIS 2012 real time. Got that great Kaspersky deal from Amazon.com. I have MalwareBytes and SuperAntiSpyware on demand. Is there anything I could run real-time with KIS? It has to be something free right now.

Took advantage of Webroot's half off Cyber Monday deal on their Antivirus. Then I threw in Online Armor Premium and now have a light and tight set up...:thumb: :D :thumb:  :thumb:

I recently obtained a license Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete. I do not know well this software. I want some advice.
This combination would be good? (PC = laptop IBM, 512 MB RAM, 80 GB HDD, 1,66 GHz procesor; Router / Firewall)
    - Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete + Shadow Defender + Sandboxie
    - Malwarebytes'Anti-Malware Free (for on-demand scan)

Choose between Shadow Defender or Sandboxie, otherwise it's overkill...

It's not an overkill. Shadow Defender requires the user to reboot in order to revert to a previous condition. Sandboxie works differently. With Sandboxie you run applications inside sandboxes, and you just have to clean the sandboxes, once you finish using the applications. No need to reboot, whenever we wish to clean a sandbox...

While they aim to the same - protect the real system against modifications - they do it so in a different way. I don't see why the user couldn't use both...

I agree. Shadow Defender and Sandboxie should be fine together. Sandboxie will handle what's in the sandbox and SD will handle whatever's outside of it.

There's your answer. Why would one need to have two products to do the same task? That's my personal point of view. Personally I run SD in one machine and SB in another one. I know they work differently, but for me, in the end it's all about discarding all changes made either while on Shadow Mode or inside the sandbox. If want to save something I commit it on Shadow Defender or I recover it from the sandbox.

I don't know how you computer manages all software, considering you have 512 MB of RAM. Does this configuration make it slow or is system responsive?
If things are slow, I would remove either Shadow Defender or Sandboxie and add Hitmanpro for on demand.
I would also add drive imaging software and from time to time backup system to external disk.

They don't do the same task. Unless you have everything running in sandboxie. Shadow defender is a system wide virtualization. Sandboxie is object/area specific. They are similar in their practice but not in their areas of affect.

I think sandboxie and shadow defender should be used together.....if any nasty malware breaks out of sandboxie then shadow defender will remove it with a reboot......the combo is layered security, no conflicts so why not let the duo smack the  out of all the crooks.....

Webroot SecureAnywhere has a Forum right here at Wilders. It still goes by the Prevx Title. Just in case you didn't know...:)
