Maybe they should change the name to Duck duck Goose or have a big Duck with 7 small Duck all in a row follow the big Duck :argh:

That's odd, it looks like you are in IE 9 there. I have had no problems apart from in Opera, where 'Start Page' is fine but I can't get the search page to even open until I uncheck the content blocking. Maybe it's something like that?

EDIT, I just checked 'Start Page' & 'Ixquick' in IE 9 on my Win 7 desktop. The search pages render normally but the WOT icon seems to be on the left hand of the page covering some of the results.

Apart from what I have said about Opera, the pages render perfectly well in Chrome/Iron & Firefox/SeaMonkey.

I think it's odd that if you type "google" in DuckDuckGo that it doesn't return google.com as a top search result. I didn't see it at all actually for as far as I scrolled down. Bing.com on the other hand will show up as the first result for a search of "bing".

    they should shorten the URL

to something Like DDGO Or duckGo

People are lazy and tend to forget Long URL

I was converted to the way of the 'Duck' a while ago & I usually have it as my default search engine. It is my homepage on Firefox as well. I have Startpage (Ixquick) as my homepage on SeaMonkey & DDG (SSL) as default. If you want to change Google to DDG as the default engine in Firefox you have to first add the plug-in then go into about:config & type browser.search.defaultengine into the filter, then replace Google with DuckDuckGo (SSL), if you want the SSL version.

I've tested DuckDuckGo, the non JavaScript variant. I'm getting only 9 results per page. That's pretty less than I get using Scroogle or Google which I can set up for 100 results per page. Do I miss something?

Haven't found anything about amount of links per page but I have found that this does not work,
It works if you paste into the address bar but if you paste it in IE9 options as the Home Page, it will not work. At least for me it doesn't

What settings? I'm not going to fiddle for settings on their site. One click in my browser should be enough to throw the results. I don't have to apply settings neither on Scroogel's nor on Google's site. For both sites I have cookies and JavaScript disabled. That's what search algorithms should be for and which we define in our browser. I thought I missed something in my search algorithm for DuckDuckGo.

OK, I set it to my own country amongst other things, which is always useful.

Hmm, the Duck has just quit working. I type in my search terms > enter and it takes me to the original DDG home page that doesn't have any of my custom settings. The search terms are shown in the address bar of the original home page but no results. Weird

No personal experience of DDG. Never used it. Never will.

Same for me. Personally, I wouldn't care if it showed either one. The thing I like about DDG is that it gives you the choice to turn off options and it honors them. Google doesn't for me. Here's an example with Google's Gmail, they offer this new look Gmail, so I give it a try on my wife's laptop. Hey this looks and feels fairly decent so I may just do it on mine and get away from the html mode. I close it out on hers, sign out and back on to have it remember her password etc. and down in the bottom conrner is a feedback floater. I'm thinking, fill it out and it will go away and so I do. As usual with Google, it doesn't go away. It just keeps popping up. For me, there is no sense in doing something like that. First off, if I wanted to give feedback without solicitation, I would. Second, if after being nagged to give feedback and one gives feedback, dismiss the popup from showing again. Anyway, is DDG tied in with Amazon?

so i gave this a try and here is my result:
-i tried searching for Mw3 "ballistic vest" (cause i wanted to know since im playing mw3) and with google i got my answer with the first link and with this engine the same was at 7-8 rank and the first 5 links were useless
-WOT DOES NOT work in duckduckgo
-Bitdefender Traffic Light DOES NOT work either

so i'll stay tune and give it a try every once a while and see if they have improved anything.
thanks for sharing, its always nice to try new stuff and personally love to switch from google but basically theres not real rival at this point and i love their Operators in the searchs.

If I search office on DDG, OpenOffice is the 4th result. I don't think you can expect LibreOffice, an application which technically is still in it's infancy (even though it's a fork of a mature application), to make the top list for a while still.
