    My personal opinion (obviously):

    Pros

    • fastest product in the world.
    • maximum efficiency.
    • optimize the resource consumption.
    • Active Virus Control (AVC) is a system that monitors processes and when it detects that something is amiss with a certain process, it generates some internal alerts. If an alert threshold is reached, the process is considered to be malware. This not only brings up a very small number of false positives, but it also brings a lot of benefits from the point of view of heuristics and proactive detections.
    • silent security: intelligent and intuitive.
    • cloud technologies: cloud-based engines that will allow for a faster scanning process, since the processing will take place in the cloud and not locally, and also, this technology will make sure that the product will always have available the latest virus definitions, as the cloud database is being constantly updated.
    • anti-phishing and anti-fraud.
    • no messages and advertisements (annoying for the user).
    • if we will decide at some point to include advertisements in our products, it will certainly not be something that will bother, but something that will seem to come naturally. No add is natural :)

    Cons
    • something totally different: something that has no settings, no options and something that tries to change the perceptions on what is expected from an antivirus solution.
    • in the end we decided to launch it as a free product in Romania: it was more about launching a free product on the Romanian market than it was about offering a free product.
    • Autoscan actually works by scanning once a day all the critical system areas (System32, Program Files) and once a week it sweeps the entire system, regardless of the size of the hard drive. All this happens without any impact on the performance of the machine, tests being made with games and applications. This background scanning relies on a system that could be perceived as being similar to the 'idle' scanning implemented in other solutions. (...) which means that the scan is not fast, but it doesn't interfere in any way with the regular processes. Just that I want to configure than antivirus!
    • If a file is detected with a precision rate of 100% as being malware, it will be deleted, but if it's detected as possibly being malware, it will be quarantined and rescanned every hour to check if the virus definition updates can provide some further information. Again, I want configurability...
    • Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition works only on Windows XP SP3 or later versions, ideally Windows 7. On Windows 8 it's not yet certain whether it works or not.
    • Support :p

I wonder if it will have any tech that skip files if it hasn't changed, the constant once a week annoys me because i can bet the AV will slow down my computer, just by how much.

Other then that, all seems good.

"Scutul antivirus evită scanarea repetată a fişierelor curate, astfel încât calculatorul rulează la viteza maximă."

    In Romanian means :

Virus Shield avoid repeated scanning of clean files so your computer running at maximum speed.

The theory it is a patriotism act isn't right; there are French and Dutch versions.

I wonder when English will be available. Not to mention other languages. What do the French and Dutch people got that the rest doesn't? :doubt: :D The Louvre and poppies? :p

Bad news, the French/Dutch version is not free. It costs €29,95 for a single computer license:

Good & Polished GUI. Checked a folder with malware & it detected good.

I uninstalled it coz I dont understand Romanian Language. This is the only reason.

Hope the English version will be released.

Panda Cloud is also not able to quarantine many threats. For many threats it gives not neutralized & online recommendation which I find uncomfortable for average/novices. Some one here in other thread have mentioned that the not neutralize prob is fixed a lot in 1.5.1 but I still find the prob quite a lot testing Panda Cloud.

Well that would be fantastic! I could see a lot of people switching to it if it has the same detection rates as BD but without the slowdowns.

Is it going to be in English though or just Romanian?
