Other security software has been known to not allow the Panda URL Filter to connect to the Internet, block it from running or operating correctly.

What other security products do you have installed? Try turning them off one by one until you find the where the problem is.

I've got a HDD full of sality virus. So I added it as an extra HDD and downloaded Pandacloud to try it out. Excellent but....

    1. Firefox is my preferred browser and when Panda was cleaning I couldn't access firefox (FF is already running etc message) so I had to switch to i.e.
Is there a way to tell Panda to use i.e. when cleaning or is the browser issue a coincidence?

    2. am getting BSODs. Can Panda & MBAM have issues? There is nothing new except kerio fw. And the only other security is SBiE.

AaLF... The BSOD could possibly be Kerio. I remember a few people getting them with Kerio 2.1.5 on XP years ago. See if you can try with and without Kerio, that may be the problem.

Panda doesn't use the browser or any other third-party app to clean. I don't think this issue is related to Panda.

As for the conflict, I would try like Kerodo said. Uninstall Kerio and reboot to see if you are still getting BSODs. (Disable might not do the trick as the drivers will probably still be running, and conflicts come mostly from drivers).

It was Kerio - both v2 & v4 producing the BSODs.

Is there any way to find out how long the licence code will be valid? :doubt: I can't login to PCAV forums because my account is blocked since an email change ... :(

I've been imersed in SBiE & Defensewall etc & I have ignored the AV area, rarely even bothering to follow AV threads. But things change. I like this Pandacloudfree. Because its light on my XP. I have no idea of its effectiveness (vs other AVs).

Does Panda (& other AVs) do the job of anti-malware like MBAM or is their benefit in running both?

DO NOT compare please, as it could derive into an A vs B argumentation.
PCAV is lighter on resources than most AV's cause it uses the cloud, not the host system to scan files. It's detection rate is high enough to keep you safe if you practice safe computing. It does the job of an antimalware solution, protecting you from viruses, trojans, worms and so on. However just as with any other product, should not be seen as your only protection.

For further reference about malware and MBAM, you can try here: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=312701

If you go in their forum, under TOOL, there is a file you can download admitted you have disabled anyother security software that can catch it before PCAV. Usually, it works but it's not as fast as it should. The URL test doesn't work for me as I have WSA and MBAM on it.http://www.cloudantivirus.com/forum/thread.jspa?threadID=52662&tstart=0

I have PandaCloudFree. I was having trouble with the browser and uninstalled the Panda anti-Phishing feature to see if it was the cause. It wasn't.

How do I put this security feature back?

I can, sort of, accept why Panda has gone down the route of the Yahoo branded search bar in the security tool bar but; is there anyway to get rid of the Yahoo search? I already have a search bar in FF and it's set to Google, there is no way that I will ever use the Yahoo search, nor Yahoo web site as it's pretty much useless in comparison to Google, so this, for me, is quite an annoyance.
I know that the Panda Security Tool Bar can be uninstalled but the the web filtering stops working, or seems to.

No, it does not. You keep URL Filtering if you uninstall the toolbar.

Thanks for the reply; I have tried uninstalling it but when I have done so and then used Panda's test page it shows that URL filtering is not working. Or it did last time I tried.

    @ pBust:
Noting my interest to your software, I re-downloaded the URL filter toolbar and tested it in FF 8.0.1. I first disabled the Web protection module in MBAM Pro, then WebrootSecureAnywhere Essential and found out it's some module of WSA (Firewall??) that's interfering with the URL filter. In fact, I finally got it to work after completely exiting the program WSA. MBAM Pro is OK. Only problem is when I click the test page, I first get a blank page, I have to refresh the page to get the correct warning page. Should be interesting to know if PrevX3 has the same actions on the URL filter because it doesn't have a firewall integrated. I'd like to keep WSA but I don't know how to make exclusions. I am going to try to contact support at Webroot. Let you know!!!
Updated 13h09: Submitted a ticket to Webroot Support. Waiting. I tested (without any WSA) on Google Chrome and it works even better than with FF 8.01. So, sad for me, as I paid for it, but the culprit is solely WSA it seems!
Updated 13h15: Promptly works with IE 9 also (without the WSA Essential program ON, of course!)

I think the culprit is WSA's Identity Shield, it protects the browsers process from being tampered with by other processes, so it won't let the URL filtering access the browser.
