Any news regarding bluepoint? I find it strange that they failed like that in the first test, after all they use whitelisting for unknown files. Maybe that feature does not work in the Android version?

we've been quite busy these days. I've just installed Bluepoint Antivirus now and scanning process is in progress (5%)

We'll let you know the final results.

 

Bluepoint antivirus result - 61 malwares detected (33.70%)

Disappointing and very weak as expected.

 

Any chance to test Rising yet?

Also I see AlYac has a free Android antivirus. They also sell an internet security suite that appears to be a rebranded BitDefender. Could you test AlYac?

Rising doesn't have any option to scan the SD card contents.

I've tested ALYac.
It had a disappointing result: 63 detections out of 181 infected apk files.

Also, for these tests is there some way to keep a running total for overall score of all the tests?

 

Yes, those 62 malwares are included in the 181 test set.

unfortunately Comodo doesn't offer any option to scan the SD card contents. This feature might be available in the final version. If so, we'll test it then.

@pykko,
(1) are you able to tell if Dr.Web checks the file you're downloading or after it's installed (which would seem a bit late)
(2) are you not testing those AV products which don't scan SD card because it's a bad feature or because the only way you can test is by bringing in malware through the card?

Actually Rising can perform SD card scanning once a full scan is done.
