ess 5.0.94.0 - windows firewall

Hello

I recently reinstalled my window 7. I started editing my services when I noticed that my windows firewall was on (started). Should it be on? (it wasn't before)

I set it to manual.

 

With ESET Smart Security installed, it's generally preferable to have the Windows Firewall turned off to avoid conflicts in rules set by each. Also, having both turned on won't offer any real additional protection.

 

On Windows 7 the firewall service should be running though the firewall itself should be turned off. Use the Control Panel entry to turn it on and off, and leave the service at its default (Automatic). The firewall service is used for more than just the firewall.

Basically it says doing so will "kill all inbound networking to the OS and all of its services".
