Very annoying thing:When Avira does a full scan, it always stops and asks if I want to scan with Avira CD, cause there's a hidden file...blah-blah-blah...
I know about this hidden file and it's trustworthy. How to say to Avira that I do NOT want to use this ******* CD never!I just want it to scan all files and report of scanned files. Why Avira never shows this "hidden" file?Where is it's location, what's the name of the file, why is so suspicious etc ? If I start a full scan and just go outside, when I return, Avira's stupid question stays on my desktop and the scan cannot finish.

That's odd.Every time after a full scan Avira found more hidden files(registry keys) and never asked me to use the CD.In settings-System Scanner-Scan-Action on detection-change Interactive with Automatic tick Copy file to quarantine before action. And you can add files to Exclusions too (don't know about registry keys though,if this is the case).View the logs for the details.Hope it helps.

A posting in Avira Forums a while back said that most of these hidden files are generally stray leftover registry keys and other junk that is likely of no consequence. Why they then bother adding it to the scan list is a bit of a mystery. Kinda like the Pro-Active module that's still in development...  :D

I could have posted one for you if I'd seen this message beforehand.

It pops up about once a week in the lower right. This morning's was about upgrading to get game mode, or something along those lines. A previous one was about upgrading to Premium.

In 2012, Avnotify.exe isn't the key to stopping these. Does anyone know what is?

Yes, I really like how they are doing that. A small popup in the lower right. This type of advertising is perfect in my view. The main free app is clean looking.

Unnecessarily creates the protected tray process though, which is annoying (can't remove until reboot).

    Thanks is there a changelog?

My wife said Firefox kept hanging and not responding since I've install Avira on her laptop, troubling.

    Anyone else having issues?

I knew that all along, but disabling it every time there's an upgrade is annoying.
I don't really care about the ads, but something the user decidedly took out of the installation should not be nagged on and on again.
