    Hi,

I was wondering if it would be possible to enable multi-quote options for threads as I have used on other vBulletin boards and works well imo. It's usually next to the 'quote' button on each individual post

(Not meant to sound like a demand. Just one for virtual 'suggestion box' lol) :)

I've wondered about how to do this.
Is this post an example of multi-quoting?

    Yes exactly.

I've done that manually on this forum too but on other vBulletin forums they have the multi-quote button which makes it both easier and quicker.

    Any feedback please from admin?

I'm afraid that I don't find multiquoting very inviting. We already have a problem with people quoting full posts and simply adding a "good post!" or "I agree :thumb: " comment. Often, the post they quote is the one right before their reply. (One guy did it so much that I took away the quote button from his account. He still doesn't have it available.)

I had a discussion about this a few years back with the staffs of other forums that I help manage, and they thought pretty much the same thing. I even developed hacks on IPB to remove the multiquote feature completely on those forums.

For the few times a multiquoted reply is needed, I don't think manually forming the quote blocks is that bad. We all do that anyway when we reply point by point, using multiple quotes from a single post.

Sorry if this isn't what you were hoping for as a reply. :doubt:

That is a cool explanation and perfectly understandable from an admin point of view. So I'm happy. And you demonstrated your point well too, almost too well.

I laughed when I read about the member whose quote button you permanently removed. It amused me so much, I actually moved my mouse to quote it in this post. I wasn't even thinking, it was an involuntary action to quote, just natural instinct kicking in lol.

So yeah. Makes perfect sense and thanks for reply.

Sorry to seem so dense, but how do you do it manually?
I know how to make a quote box, but how do I make several like the post referenced - "originally posted by a", "originally posted by b" etc.?

***cozumel holds back from quoting the judge before replying*** :D  :D

You use the quote button as normal for the first post.
Then for each subsequent quotation you copy, paste and insert inside new quote tags.
Then you edit the beginning quote tag by inserting "=username" into the

If I feel I need to multiple quote. I start a new post, this one currently in quick reply. I middle click on the quote button of the post I want to quote, this opens a new background tab with the post I want to quote in edit mode. I do this with other post I would like to quote, then select each of them (tab) and copy and paste what I want to quote in my reply.

Here are three other post I've quoted in this manner.
