    Source.

I wish Bill the best of luck, he deserves it. Plus, given his past record of integrity, I'm sure he'll hand over Scotty to the right people.

To be honest I can not see a company that WinPatrol would fit into. Anyway I wish the best of luck to BillP, he has seemed very busy lately (going by his Twitter page) and I hope things go will for him.

I'm not really shocked. There's probably an economic factor here too (I say that though without being a follower of his Twitter). Lifetime licenses are going to die out. They are no longer sustainable for great lengths of time, nor do they really make any good business sense.

Ya know, I'm really getting tired of buying software and then watch them being sold or discontinued. Like FDISR and Online Armor for 2 examples.:(

maybe it's not all about money.
eventually, times becomes more precious than money.

Whatever the reason for the possible sale, I wish Bill the very best as he has always shown to be a man of integrity.

I've been wondering why it seems so long between versions, especially since there were a few issues left unresolved from past releases which were supposed to be addressed in short order.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see...hopefully it will work out for both Bill as well as his loyal customer base.

I completely agree with you. Even SAS has stopped issuing lifetime licenses.

    Best Regards,

Seconded. I had a couple of problems using WinPatrol over the years that Bill patiently straightened out for me.

If he does sell I will surely miss him. Scotty has been on my system for more years than I can remember. Bill has been fantastic to his customers. I can't imagine any company caring about their customers more than Bill P.

A friend of mine had a pet fish only store,Saltwater species and fresh water. He had been in buisiness over twenty yrs with a great reputation and had healthy hand selected quality fish.

A chain pet store opened up 3 miles down from him that sold all kinds of pets, including dogs. Within 6 months his buisiness slowed and in less then a yr he was sadly Out of Buisiness.

The point is the small mom and pop seem to offer the best quality family like service but suffer the greatest against the big greedy money hungry companys. If bill sells to a big player I hope he squeezes every dime out of them.

I cant assume thats whats going on here with Bill but with this economy, I wouldn't be one bit suprised.

In the past, successful software changed owners,
and the whole thing turned into disaster...

I wish WP to remain as successful as it has been...
