Not being funny but any 'full' scan with any AV will slow the PC down somewhat while it carries the task out.
Set it off at bedtime then everything/everyone's happy!

    :D

I know that, but sometimes I'm on the PC other times I'm not. It depends on what else I can do or have to do at the time I decide I want to do a full scan.

For example If my kids are playing X-Box I have no TV, so I can surf or do work around the house. If those are my choices I'm going to choose surf and put up with a slower scan. Unless the other task is a big priority.

To be honest and all joking aside I didn't find the full scan to be imposing at all.
I've certainly experienced worse and paid for the privilege too!

I never do full scans unless an AV makes me. I find them mostly unnecessary.

1-2 week I scan with MBAM and HMP, which I find sufficient.

Neither did AV Comparatives in their latest review, they rated it as average. But I figured I would ask anyway.

One last thing and I just want to make sure of this fact. If it finds any malware does PCAV give you a choice as to how to proceed, delete, clean, no action?
Also does it quarantine suspicious file in case you want to restore them?

I think it does from what I've read on this thread, at least restoring from quarantine, but just want to make sure. But not sure on my first part if it ask you how to proceed when it finds something.

    Thanks.

No it does not ask you what to do when it finds malware it automatically handles it if that is what you are asking.

I was wondering about that as well. Will that be changed in the future?

Yep, so what happens if it deletes a false positive or if it decides a legit app I'm using is a potentially unwanted software or malware? This could be a problem if it deletes a vital part of the OS. Hopefully this is not correct. All AV's will encounter false positives from time to time. In the latest AV Comparatives it was great, 1 false positive. But what is that false positive what a vital part of the OS.

    Hopefully this is not correct.

All detections (both by name as well as suspicious) can be recovered from the PCAV GUI Recycle Bin tab. There's also a configuration to extend the default automatic life management of suspicious files inside the Recycle Bin.

I can live with that. But it does not ask what to do, it just takes action correct?

Any chance this will be changed in a future version? Also, would Panda's URL filtering conflict with Norton DNS?

    There shouldn't be any conflicts.

    (Source: I've used them together.)

Weird occasion. At the setup option [free version], if you uncheck both "options; toolbar and homepage"..for some reason it will still install it, no matter what you "say" or not.

Had a folder with the toolbar, when i was adding/creating presets for all the .exes [w7 firewall]. :(

Will keep/test it now for a month or so, according to some AV Test is one of the best out there ;)

It doesn't install the toolbar on your system, but keeps the files in case you decide to install the URL Filtering later on.

Under Start > All Programs > Panda Cloud Antivirus, there is a shortcut option to install the toolbar.

I really would love to see this change in the near future. According to the reviews at AV Comparatives Panda usually scores on the higher side for false positives. Great detection rates but always has too many false positives for their taste. The exception was Panda Cloud in the latest on demand review. But to be fair to Panda it always does much better in the AV Test reports.

For me to have Panda or any AV install on my main PC this is a must. I never delete or clean anything until I verified that this is a real issues with other sources. And so far, knocking on wood, Eset and Avast have serve me well. But I really like everything I've reading about PCAV. But I want the option to decide what action to take. I might still install PCAV on one of my secondary PC's, but unless this option is added in the future it will never be installed on my main PC's.

I can honestly tell you that Panda does not have a FP problem. They have made sure they addressed any issues from the past. So if not using it is because you percieve a FP problem, then well, you are shooting yourself in the foot.;)

No I haven't because my current AV's have not let me down. But I still want to be able to decide for myself what action my AV or any other Spyware/Malware scanner will take when it discovers any suspicious items.

Bingo!!!!! That's why I want to be able to choose the action my AV, or my Spyware/Malware scanner will take when it flags anything at all.
