And use it for various deals, not only for Avira.

I have two coming to me. Mine and my wife's account. That should take care of wife's and kids computer for another year.

 

It's a shame but Avira Internet suite has a very POOR rating on Matousec. I don't know how to rely on Matousec!

 

It is for 14 months. That's confirmed as of now. If Avira Facebook page gets 150K likes by October 17th, then we will have 15 months license

Matousec tests are not at all a benchmark to measure the quality of security software. The reason is this. Matousec will test the HIPS abilities of Firewall. Many AV vendors don't do that. Avira's HIPS abilities are binded to it's Guard module, but not to Firewall. And that's the reason why Avira is getting low scores at Matousec.

How is this 14 months as of now? When the promo started there were ~30k likes already. The promo is for new likes since the promo began.

 

I think techishare means is as far as the sweepstakes is concerned the length of the license will be 14 months. I think though its only for 12 months.

From facebook sweepstakes site "if we gain 120,000 new fans during this campaign, then the Avira Internet Security 2012 license that everyone will win will last for one full year."

 

Wow great offer. Do i need to activate Avira now or can i activate it anytime during one year? I still have 3 more month of my current AV subscription.

On 7th October they confirmed that the license length is for 13 months. By that time, they have crossed 130K.

If you look at the announcement of this sweepstakes, Avira says :

So, on October 7th if it's 13 months for 130K likes (I'm not sure if this is exact figure . But I'm sure it's close to it), for 140K it has to be 14 months.

 

I don't know if it have shelf life or not. But, as far as I know, the remaining period of current subscription will be added to the new subscription. So, if you activate 12 month license key today, the remaining 3 months will be added to new subscription. Hence, you'll have 15 months subscription length in total.

I thought when the promo started they had 30k fans already and that every 10k more than that would be an additional month.

 

I think they have more than 110K likes before starting the promo. It's highly unlikely to get more than 100K likes within 30 days

Anyway, we have this promo and 14 month license, so let us make use of this

 

No, I saw around 70.000 likes a couple of weeks ago, and the promotion's started on 14 September. When they put the promotion add in their free antivirus' pop up there are more or less 10.000 new likes a day. When there is no pop up, around 1.000.

Also what is the ' app ' what does it do ?

Actualy i am using avast IS right now. And it still hav four month of subscription. Thats why i wanted to know if i can activate the licance after 4 month.

 

From my past experiences you can activate it whenever, which is quite nice.

Looks like the license length ended up being 17 months. Pretty nice for those that are ok with the req's.
