Hi Joe, can you please help me understand this.

Webroot secureAnywhere complete is priced in the USA at US$79.95 (AUS$80.17) yet in Australia the same product costs AUS$119.95 (US$119.62).:thumbd: :thumbd: :thumbd:

    Absolutely unjustifiable, greedy *****

If I purchased this product, it wouldn't surprise me at all if I was redirected to the US download site.

Why not have a pricing policy based on the US dollar.

No other AV has this pricing policy, most will have you pay in US$ (no greed involved)

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON YOU WEBROOT

But is it possible that this is a rouge site? http://www.webroot.com.au/En_AU/index.html
It may be criminals, profiting through deception or theft? It certainly looks like it!

Why don't you contact the support inbox and ask them about the pricing as this forum is for product support only in other words we have a direct line to the Development team here not the one's who set the prices! ;)

Joe has answered his fair share of questions regarding some pricing policies of WSA, why wouldn't he answer mine?
Or does it fall into the to hard basket?

But I will post this question to Webroot support(although I thought it was here) and wait for a response.

One thing is certain, I will not purchase any product from a company that engages in such shady business practices. To charge("stupid" Australians for a 568KB install) 50% more for the same product is criminal.

It seems TH that taking up contact with Webroot support takes me to this page.

So at best there is a 10% chance of receiving a reply.

Seems this is the correct place to post, as it is the old Prevx team.

EDIT: Joe, could you provide me with a link to contact sales directly

    :D I hope not.
I know I can buy it cheaper doing a little research. That's not the point, we are being charged 50% more on the official site for identical software from the same servero_O o_O .
    My question was, Why?

You can always buy it off from webroot.com which charges USD, no issue at all

Most companies have differing prices for each region, I imagine because of the costs for local support and processing currency differently.

Looking off of Symantec's pricing as an example, their Norton 360 5.0 price in the UK is A$129.99 which is $126.16 (USD) but their US price is $79.99. That's an 8% higher price difference than Webroot's Australian pricing.

After a quick look around, I haven't found another vendor that doesn't have a similar price difference in any global region/currency.

It's hard to set a price when global currencies change so frequently - it's possible that in the future, the scales would be tipped differently depending on the strength of the US dollar so if the price was set to the USD in Australia, people would complain it was too high.

You should be able to change the store you're using on Webroot.com which should let you view the US site/purchase in USD if wanted.

Based on the screenshot you sent, I believe you're speaking to the correct customer support inbox - it will still have your previous messages there, but let me know if you need anything else :)

Hope you don't think I wasn't having a shot at you Joe, as mentioned I was just wondering why.

I have purchased quite a few licences among them,

    Prevx
    Bitdefender
    Sandboxie
    Winpatrol
    RollbackRx,
    DefenceWall
    Geswall
    MalwareDefender
    MalwareBytes
    DriveSentry(LOL)

and more, but none of the previosly mentioned vendors decided to up the price by 50% purely because I reside in a different country:eek:

I feel sorry for those that are unaware of the fact that they are being ripped off, because they are elderly or just sucked in to this con, paying more for absolutely no extra benifit:thumbd:

    It's called greed!

As TH pointed out, you are not the best person to have ask this question, but thanks for taking the time to reply:D

I was just saying if I had a pricing issue I would contact sales support as they would be best to help me but if you have and issue with the program you are in the right place but for Joe to not get over whelmed with small issues with the program I would contact the the support inbox also as the staff is quite larger! ;)
