    Anyone using Private Firewall or OutPost with hips enabled with Kav AV?

    I'm just wondering with the hips enabled in both if there are any problems.

    It seems that nobody has answered your inquiry -- stating the obvious. Maybe, it would be best if you try it out and see the results for yourself. Just make sure to include exclusions for each, such that incompatibility problems are minimized.

    I've only tried two firewalls with KAV and the one that worked without issue was Look 'n' Stop.

    There's an official list of incompatible firewalls somewhere on Kaspersky's website. If I recall correctly, they place pretty much every firewall on the list. I can tell you from personal experience that I had conflicts with Jetico Personal Firewall and KAV 2010/2011. My system would hang if I logged out of my limited user account.

    I have used comodo firewall with KAV 2012 with no issues. Kaspersky proactive defense has much in common with comodo defense + settings. So I have disabled options in comodo defense + that might potentially conflict with KAV and let KAV do all behaviorial analysis . I don't know much about other firewalls but comodo defense + settings are very well laid out just like KAV proactive defense settings which helped me make both compatible.

    Kaspersky has one of the best firewalls in their suites. Why not try KIS?

    The latest version of PC Tools FirewallPlus (7.0.0.123) works very well with KAV 2012.

    OMG I forgot I posted this. Thanks for the replies guys. Too pre-occupied.

    I'm planning a new install of Win 7 here soon and was trying to figure out what setup I am going to use. I have not used Kaspersky in 6 yrs so I thought I would give it another shot. I got a real good deal at Amazon for $14.99.

    @Ostrodamus

    You're right, I forgot about checking the compatibility list at their site.

    EDIT

    Well, it looks like Private Firewall is incompatible. I can't believe this list... oh well, have to figure something else out.

    The incompatibility list just lists pretty much all known firewalls in the world because they may conflict with KAV, while in reality many of those firewalls will usually work fine with it. I personally used to run KAV with Comodo FW 3.x with no problems (and with Comodo's HIPS, D+ enabled), although I don't know if the newest version of CFP would work with the newest version of KAV.

    Yes, you're right (known firewalls) and it's rediculous.

    It does! I would recommend installing KAV first. Killer combo.

    Could you tell me what options in Comodo Defense+ you have disabled in order to make it more compatible whith KAV 2012? I already use Comodo Firewall and would like to try it with KAV. Thanks!

    I am sorry as I have changed my security setup now. You have to compare KAV proactive defense settings with comodo's Defense + settings.

    Honestly I'd would just go with Kaspersky AV+FW in one package. I've seen nothing but great results. KIS seriously locks it down. Free 30 day demo on their site. Give it a run.
