HackNotifier, Check If Online Accounts Have Been Compromised

    I think the accuracy will be in the leaked lists they're checking the email.

    I got a Gawker account compromised associated with one of my emails, which links to this - I remmember this hack but I'm not sure I understand... since I don't have an account on any of the mentioned sites (gawker, gizmondo, lifehacker, etc.)

    It also said a Gawker account with one of my throwaway email accounts, which surprised me until I remembered signing up ages ago to make a comment on one of the 9 sites run by Gawker.

    HackNotifier appears only for when sites have their databases publicly released, rather than intrusions where criminals accessed the data but sold it privately.

    Ya so do I, looks like I did some comments on Lifehacker back on 2008... I recovered my password and tried to follow instructions to delete account however website is outputing some error... already contacted helpdesk...

    My only question is what password I might have used for it, it's been so long since the gawker leak that it's hard to find a list that hasn't had the passwords stripped from it.

    Not to worry, I use "password" for everything as it'll be the last thing an attacker would expect...
