It's been actually already mentioned that there is a dll available that seems to have fixed the issue for everybody who have installed it so far.

Is the DLL available also for 32bit version of ESS? If yes, please PM it. Thank you.

    yes Marcos,
but it was never stated here on the forum whether the dll was working or not...

    and my questions is still:
Is this dll going to be included in an update for v5 or will everyone affected need to pm you and patch this manually?

    Hello,

It can often take several days for a test to run, depending upon the complexity of the test parameters, such as number OSes (SP versions, editions, languages, 32-bit/64-bit, etc.) to test against as well as delays from waiting for feedback from external sources like distributors, business partners, customers and so forth.

In the past, updated DLLs have usually been provided as part of a new build.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we continue testing.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky

A long text and the most of it doesn´t matter, but this:
The Problem was known in the Beta Testing as you could read,
still the RC got this Problem too and it´s no abstact or specialiazed issue, just a non-standard path installation!

Please share some Downloadlink via PM or in the Topic with the knewest DLL cause after 2 Weeks I want to turn my AV on again...

Just a note, when testing the beta and reporting here Eset V5 was always installed to partition other than C:

Somehow I think this may all be related.

Why can't the dll be made publically available, rather than requiring people to PM mods in order to get it? I mean, customers are having issues, and I appreciate that you're trying to fix it Eset, but why make people jump through hoops to get a fix to their problems?

people, its not just related to a non-standard path installation - I did a standard install on drive c: and had the same problem...

A workaround for the issue is to install v5 on the system disk. If somebody is epxeriencing problems with v5 installed on the system disk and fully updated, let me know.

Ever since I installed v5, I have random lock ups, had to re-install windows, still encountering random lock ups.

Bahh.. If I had just not installed it.. refund sounds good.

It's neat how when my license ran out.. I forgot my password to uninstall v4 but when I tried to do the email thing to you guys.. NO one responded.. I did it 3-4 times.. so I had Eset 4.x on my system for about a month without it being able to be updated. When I renew the license and install the new version this happens.....

Cannot work from home.. yeah there could be something completely unrelated to ESET and this issue.. but what are the chances it all happened at the same time.

    meh..

This issue has affected Win7 (mainly x64) users who installed v5 on other than the system drive. A fix for the issue is available upon request for those who cannot or don't want to install v5 on the system disk.

I wonder if you could supply me with your ticket number so that I could investigate what happened with your case. Anyways, ESET products can be uninstalled in safe mode per the instructions here.

I believe I've posted here at least twice that I did install on the system disk and had the same problem - its true, it was the RC version, but I've not read anything here that would suggest the same thing won't happen with the final release.

Note: I've purchased the 3-user version of ESS v4, but I don't want to install it yet as not all 3 computers are ready (i.e. I've got EAV on one of them with 3 months subscription left and would rather get my money's worth first - I'm told that once I've activated my subscription on one machine, the subscription starts for all 3 regardless of when I install - not too impressed with that).

So, I had hoped to test the trial version on one of my machines, but the download link ESET sent didn't work - ESET hasn't made this easy...

    Hello,

It may not be related, but an error due to a different reason.

Here are direct download links to the English language edition of ESET Smart Security v5:

Hello Marcos, I'm experiencing the same issue like others - my ESS 5 is freezing computer on startup on Windows 7 x64 (it was not installed on system partition). I had to revert to ESS 4, but I'd like to run the fifth version properly. Could you send me the fixed DLL, please? :)

Hello Marcos, I've experienced the same problem on Win 7 X64. Installed on non-system partition; Windows hangs on Welcome screen. I was able to get Logon to complete and arrive at Desktop and ESS 5 to load by changing the ESS service to Automatic - Delayed Start. However, the system is unstable and the ESS window opens to a white, blank screen. I install all programs on a non-system partition to avoid filling up the system partition on solid state drive.

I have ESS 5 installed on a Win 7 x64 laptop on the system partition (C:) and have had no issues.

Could you PM me the updated dll's? Thank you.

Same issue here, I can boot into windows but not all my desktop will load and even the Eset icon sometimes does not show. Have gone back to version 4.
Hopefully the dll will fix this, so would like a link as well.

    We wait now since weeks,
I asked for some DLLs but you do not link any or send PMs.
The Installer, and installing it on System Path don´t fix it.

I tried SysInspector, after 20 Minutes of loading he opened but I canßt remeber if I could save some file, or where it should be... it´s a few days ago and the windows freezes sometimes.

    Regards

I had to revert back to version 4 and then updated to 5.0.94 when it became available. It appears that that version 5.0.94 has fixed my problem. Now my computer is working well.

Hey Guys, i found another intersting thing today. I wanted to check something in the router config( u know 192.168.1.1) and, this was the answer:

    Web Server Error Report:
    Server Error: 401 N/A

    Operating System Error Nr:3997698: HTM
    Access denied

    /userRpm/Index.htm

So ess decided to ban router config... (I have tplink wr-542g or stg. like that with the most up to date firmware.)

Any ideas how to solve this?
After uninstalling it works. ESS version is 5.0.93.7, the latest is not available yet here.
