I'm excited because of the process separation.
UI one process, Web Content another process, Extensions an additional process.
Not quite Chrome-like, but it'll do.

It was slated for 7, yes. Where they are with it now, I'm not getting good info on. We'll find out in two days, if nothing else.

I really can't see how. No one else has managed it without higher RAM usage. Though, hopefully with the memory improvements, it won't get out of hand.

I'm experiencing 7beta6, have to say it's really good. The RAM usage has really been decreased. Looking forward to the final release.

I think maybe I put the cart before the horse on process separation.
It must've been an old wiki article I read stating FF 7. I got overly excited. :ouch:
Currently it looks like testing is being done in FF 8 Nightly's.
Maybe ready for FF 9 or sometime after it debuts in December. (Rumor)

Sounds good, I just hope I don't lose many extensions this time.

With your luck, probably will :D Nah, you should be okay Dave, so long as you're not using any too obscure or with too few users. Any add-on developer that cares, has had ample time to prepare for 7.

I had posted this same link a while ago in the Aurora/beta channel thread ;)

In any case, process separation is not going to be that easy at least for desktop Fx. I think they've made more progress with the mobile version since that is being built from the ground up with process separation in mind.

In the case of desktop Fx, it's somewhat like retro-fitting and not at all easy. I think the code name for the project is "Electrolysis".

I am fed up of the new builds .Every time 2 or 3 addons are incompatible. What do these new builds do to break the addons? I mean my cookie manger is now incompatible.Has the cookie folder changed in version 7? .Im sure they will be updated eventually ,but its getting a chore with firefox.I wish I had a new browser to like.I like to keep things up to date ,but i do wonder why i bother sometimes :cautious:
