Cannot install ESS Version 5

My computer is a Windows 7 Pro machine, 64 bit, service pack 1 with 6GB of memory. My problem is that I simply cannot install Eset Smart Security 5 at all. I have tried with the live installer and the off-line installer. The off-line installer gets as far as "installing drivers" then stops and rolls back all the changes and tells me there was an error during installation.

Prior to installing V5 I was running ESS V4, I have completely uninstalled this now but the problem still persists. Any ideas how I can get the new version installed?

Edit - Just tried to install on a Windows 7 32 bit VM and it would not install there either, surely I'm not the only one having issues in light of this?

 

Suggest using the ESET V4 uninstaller found in the knowledge base to remove any leftovers. Reboot, exit lan/homegroup chatter programs before attempting to reinstall V5.

 

Tried the uninstallation tool as per instructed and removed ESSV4 while in safe mode using the tool, made no difference, still cannot install version 5.

 

Please create install logs as per the instructions here and supply them to Customer care for perusal.
