Panda traditional products do ask users if they want to anonymously send suspicious files or not, and this user decision is respected.

Panda Cloud AV (since version 1.1 IIRC) does not allow for user decision as users are part of a community and it is in the benefit of the greater community to anonymously submit and analyze suspicious files in order to protect the rest of the community. This is in the EULA. If you don't want to participate in the community, don't use Panda Cloud AV.

Now that previous answers which were all too brief ;) have been expanded upon, I think I understand.:doubt: However it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect that the **off line cache** which is after all for use when one is **offline** and not connected to the "Cloud intellegence" to be updated on a loosely defined schedule as it has been reported that there can be as many as 50,000 new malware samples a day. I also don't believe that anyone is scared by the synchronization feature, it's just that most people come from products that issue daily and even hourly signature updates and they are simply want to be sure that they haven't encountered a glitch whereby the synchronization has been blocked or has failed and want to be sure their Av/anti-malware product is functioning properly.

I'm sorry, at the time, "scared" was the best I could come up with at 6:30am.

...while keeping connection to Collective Intelligence community.

Why dont implement the same in Panda Cloud AV?

I explained it already. Just as all other AVs are moving to the cloud nowadays, you can expect more and more to automatically submit suspicious files as a protection feature for the rest of the community. Not doing so would be going backwards instead of forward. Just wait and see how 12-24 months down the road many if not most AVs will do that.

I see that the Events log defaults to "Show All" each time you open it even when you choose another of the time references such as the Last Month or Week. That should be the users choice as to what info is displayed I think, and probably not difficult to implement.

Is there a way that I can get Panda Cloud AV to ask me what to do when it detects something? Right now it just automatically disinfects/deletes anything it finds, even false positives.

No there isn't, but hopefully you can recover the FP from the recycle bin, which you should be able to do once again, now that the glitch in the submission system has been found. https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=306976 Hopefully it has been fixed but I haven't heard.

It's been fixed on the backend for now without requiring a hotfix.

Yes we did find and correct a few issues on the automatic upgrading. Most have been fixed but there might be some people still stuck on older versions.

Like any other beta, 1.9 is fully-featured. There is no Free or PRO when using the betas.
