I believe you , that's why I went through all of that.

My point is .... I want to see the "infection" or anything drastic like "disabling the product" for myself.
If someone knows how I can do that , please PM me with the sample of that malware or link to it.

Since my first test was on Virtualbox, i will retest on vmware. All my systems and VMs are setup for 64bit, so I cant test 32bit at the moment.

You need to remember that languy99 is a Comodo admin and is associated with them on other fronts as well. So take this review with a grain of salt.

Other VERY BROKEN TEST METHODOLOGY is that he launches threats he has alreadycopied onto the machine. This has bypassed most of Norton's protection already like IPS, Download Insight.

    This languy99's test TOTALLY SUCKS!!

I retested on a different machine, running VMWare. Tested a page of links, and NIS2012 caught them all. Maybe their are quirks between NIS and Virtual Box.

Last time I installed Norton 2011 in a VirtualBox machine, it took many reboots to get the interface to show up (I do not know whether the rest of the program was functioning beforehand or not).

Even setting up a new machine did not help.

Think of his local desktop folder as a folder existing on disk on key.
You plug the DOK - and there you have it :)

Maybe I am in the minority, but I never use USB keys anymore. Dropbox, sugersync, email, etc....

Then they claim the test is not professional because the AV is for non-professional users. At least they admitted the test is not professional but never admit his test sucks. Contradictory.

Maybe , VMWare is much better than VBox.

Anyhow, who cares about languy and his devotion to Comodo, it's gone beyond sick now.
He can make in his "reviews" a UFO shooting laser beams at other products for all I care.

Norton is a rock solid product and that's the main thing :thumb:

Why would someone risk a life-ruining lawsuit by slanting an AV review to steer peeps to a free AV program?

Don't be naive, like Norton really cares about some kid making silly reviews in his mother's basement.

Do you believe everything you see on a television and/or youtube ?

Having used them both, I don't feel that way. They both have their pros & cons, but considering Vbox is free, the choice is pretty simple for a casual user.

Do you believe that the kid in his mother's basement would be willing to risk his financial life on the assumption that Norton doesn't care about some kid making silly reviews in his mother's basement that get 8,000-15,000 views for his reviews of the most popular programs??

    8k-15k views ?
    Wow ! *puppy*

I bet that every AV vendor shakes in fear before he releases his "opinion" on their software.

Risking his financial life .... ROFL , you're either funny or don't have a clue in what kind of a world you live in.

lol? Norton really doesn't have to care about anything as I see it. The review is meant for people in general and people who spend their hard earned dollars on their products.. People do care to see where their dollars are going..You are right they really dont need to care to see if it is worth its price tag or not.. :D :argh:

For me SONAR caught viruses when they tried to run from a CD. I had autorun disabled. I manually launched the files which were supposed to be flash games in executable format. I was using NAV 2010 then.

I wouldn't put something like this past Melih, the CEO of Comodo.. that guy is one crazy man. Just look at his rants on the Comodo forums
