That's interesting - it might be worth seeing a scan log (if you could send one to report@prevxresearch.com) to see if there's anything revealing in there.

    Thanks!

If I missed any posts about this I apologize.
I'm wondering about ease of use for the average user.
We used to have an install mode/button. And the ability to suspend much of the app when we had the need. I also miss the convenience of clicking on the Prevx(now Webroot) bar up near the top of the browser to get access to some of the program. And a single click would place a site into the list of protected sites.
I can't help but wonder if the old can't some how fit in with the new. WSA is fantastic. But it's also a real pain in the butt at times.
    Thanks.

I just installed Webroot SecureAnywhere again. Also, I can see the padlock icon on the tray icon when surfing HTTPS websites now. With earlier builds this wasn't working for me somehow.

trying out the latest version and I am extremely impressed. I see what Kees meant now. It is running very smooth and very light. I am beginning to actually think this may the one product that encompasses all the different areas of security. That is truly an amazing feat.

Vey good work Joe to you and all the team.:thumb: :thumb:

Is anyone else having an issue with WSA failing to shut down when powering off your PC or rebooting? I always have to kill WSA from a prompt box.
I've had this issue with the last 2 or 3 builds, and I can reproduce it 100% of the time. I'm using XP Pro X 32. Does WSA produce any logs that need to be sent with the bug report? If so then where are they located?

Same, also on XP pro 32, leaves a blank screen without taskbar and no processes running (I think). But sometimes it WILL shutdown oko_O I guess when it feels like it ;)

It does make any sense to have to scan the pc again after a fp has been found and excluded?
It does make any sense to have to scan the pc again after a malware has been found and deleted?

Webroot is the only AV doing this I don't understand why I have to do 2 scans if with one is enough (if it's not enough is a problem of webroot design and must be fixed), It's a waste of time and resources.

Rescanning allows us to find other copies of that file on the system or other references to it, or, in the case of a false positive, it will mark the other duplicate files as safe as well.

And why all the other AV's are able to do the same only with one scan?

Because WSA only scans the important places that malware Usually hides in a minute or less and Rescanning looks in more places and the scan takes alittle longer! Really you can't compare WSA with other AV's and scanning times!

Yes, on XP hp sp3, reported a while back, sent logs both from WSA log and wsalogs.exe tool etc.. Still not fixed in 8.0.0.7 .

We haven't been able to reproduce this internally but could you or Cutting_Edgetech send me a PM if you're willing to set up a remote session if you have it fully reproducible? It would be very helpful to get this issue solved ASAP if possible.

    Thank you!

Yes I can understand where you are coming from.
Yet on my system, I don't even notice that it is scanning, it's extremely lighto_O
Scanning takes less than a minute on my system, does it take 1/2 an hour on yours, like some other AV'so_O

Could be some incompatibility with other programs you are using if the scans are using excessive resources or taking more than one or two minutes.
I can always cancel the scan if I want to, until now it has always stopped scanning if I chose that option.

I almost never have issues on my home PC as there are no FP's and up until now no malware.

The only people who complain are the YouTube testers that get infected twenty times in their 20 minute videos, it's too much for them to handle, scan, re-scan, scan They complain that it needs fixing.
I haven't had an infection in 10 years, believe me if I did get one, as far as I am concerned it can scan, re-scan, scan and re-scan every 10 years or so:D

One can't compare WSA's scanning time to traditional AVs as they are not fully cloud based.

I had a look at the WRSA help file this morning (question mark at top of the GUI) and noticed that there is a "Backup and Sync" file I hadn't noticed before.
I assume this is another part of the package that is yet to be activated, or does anyone have this already enabled in their version.

Don't have it here on my version but this looks like SugarSync given the wording "Magic Briefcase". If it's not, Webroot ought to hide behind their lawyers :doubt:
