    Kingsoft Office 2012 Goes FREE

Kingsoft Office Suite 2012 - Freeware Now!
Word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software for your professional and personal needs.
Built-in PDF converter, automatic spell check. Highly compatible with the Microsoft Office.

Kingsoft recently launched the latest Kingsoft Office 2012 Office Suite which includes Kingsoft Writer, Kingsoft Spreadsheets and Kingsoft Presentation.
Kingsoft Office 2012 is highly compatible with Microsoft Office and can view and handle all documents created by Microsoft Office.
Furthermore, Microsoft Office can view and edit all Kingsoft documents.
However, Kingsoft Office 2012 is only one-tenth of the size of Microsoft Office and is miniscule in size compared to most other office suites.
The install package is a mere 70MB in size and this can save a lot of time when you downloading and installing.
Kingsoft Office 2012 is a practical office suite which accommodates to both personal use at home and to professional businesses as well.
It has a number of features such as an automatic spell checker, a built-in PDF converter, customizable table functions, powerful functions, dynamic slides and more.

I tested it and compatibility with Microsoft Office is really amazing. But yeah it's 1 year freeware.

Where it says only 1 year freeware? On Softpedia? Is Softpedia the developer of Kingsoft Office? Don't think so.

I went to download but saw it is Free Trial.
Is it free for ever, or is it time limited ?

I much prefer Portable versions of software.
I have Googled for "Portable Kingsoft" and see results for earlier versions, but not from any sites I trust.
    Any suggestions please.

    Alan

Where does it say that it is permanent freeware?
What's up the the poor rating on Softpedia?

I never tried it before, but it looks nice according the the screenshots.

What is its advantages compared to others like LibreOffice, OpenOffice, IBM Lotus Symphony, Tiny USB Office, SSuite Office Blade Runner Portable?

    Thanks.:D

Don't know anything about the poor rating on Softpedia and personally I don't care how a highly commercial download website rate free stuff.

Compared to OO, MS Office or LibreOffice, IBM Lotus Symphony is VERY fast to load and overall feels very light. Higly compatible with Word and Excel and other MS Office docs.

Not on softpedia. Just change your clock to 2013 and you will see. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Probably because it looks and feels like Microsoft Office, which is good IMO.
Almost 100% compatibilty with all Microsoft Office formats.

Re: Kingsoft Office 2012 Goes FREE

Okay, the problem is here: http://www.kingsoftstore.com/ You can't tell me that's not a bit of false advertising. "Kingsoft® Office Suite Free 2012", a great big banner at the top right side saying "Freeware", and then you go to http://www.kingsoftstore.com/software/products.html, and it plainly states "Try it for free". I'm sorry, but that's a truckload of BS, so I won't be using it. They could have at least put the word "Trial" next to it, like they certainly did with their Android version that's on the same page as their supposed "freeware" desktop program.

I don't think it's false advertising. Have you actually installed the suite?
It says "Free" on the splash screen.

There is also no mention of a trial anywhere. On the "Help" -> "About" page it says it's licensed to me. Everything points it to being really free, and not a trial.
