I know I've asked this a 100 times but, when is Eset going to give support for Opera Mail??
If you google it or bing it you'll see that Opera's built in mail client is listed among the top 5 free mail clients out there, yet there is still no support for it in Eset AV's.

Not soon I guess. For some reason ESET is really slow with fully supporting the latest versions of mail clients (and also web browsers sometimes).

    Hello,

ESET, just like any other software company, has to prioritize development time to support platforms used by the majority of its users, which in this case often means that software from Microsoft and the Mozilla Foundation are the first which are looked at for interoperability.

That said, ESET is constantly evaluating what customers are using in order to plan specific support for technologies like web browsers and email clients in future builds.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky

Don't misunderstand this but, that is the same answer you've been giving since the first Eset Smart Security... does it still hold true?
    Customers don't use Opera Mail?
You're making it hard for "customers" to keep choosing you when you neglet to hear them.

Would maybe be better if common e-mail protocols were checked no matter what client you use, I think Avast sorted it out somewhat but it seems to be tricky with these SSL etc.

They already are. In v5 both pop3 and imap are checked for virus. It is only antispam which is not

    Hey Corpse
Opera's email client is built into the browser . Here is a link which gives a better info about the subject: http://www.opera.com/mail/

It's been embedded in the browser for years.
It is a very robust and simple client with HTML an threaded view... It was released with version 2.1 around 1996.

And it IS one of the best.

I agree !! I love the brower AND the email client. No need for Windows Live Mail :gack: , Mozilla Thunderbird  or other mail apps. We got all we need in Opera !! :thumb: :D
