Yeah was hoping for more changes. Still looking forward to testing, once I can get it installed. Lol.

ProActiv have been developed for 2 years almost right?
Pretty long for that feature and i guess it won't do wonders since it's just a BB :D

They still are not fully supporting 64 bit even now? That's a huge fail. Guess I'm no longer going to be recommending Avira to anyone. If they can't do something that simple after this amount of time, I'm not willing to trust them to protect anyone's PC.

Avira's not the only prominent vendor where that is the case.

Sandboxie didn't find it "that simple" and same with DefenseWall which is still claiming that it will take a while (more than 2 years), but perhaps you know better.

That's not the point - we're still talking about the customers' expectations. If they can't be met, the company will not survive, alternatively won't get the profit they could get to become better and better in the long-term.

.Just because someone appears 64 bit compatible, doesn't mean they truly are :cautious:

If we started naming the vendors having problems with 64 bit the list would not be a short one.

Agreed, it is just a BB what took them so long.

So what's new in Avira 12?

New UI, for what I know.

You're going in circles. People have already mentioned that the ProActiv module has been in development for a long time - 2 years if looking at the statement here - the same time that Windows 7 has been out, the OS that made the 64-bit architecture go mainstream. Need I say more?

Don't want to start a new thread on this....
Anyone running Avira Premium Security now? I am getting a crash while starting help from rightclick tray icon, avgnt.exe crashes?

So they're on par with some of the peer group members having serious difficulty developing.
Not such a convincing or exonerating argument imao
Avira isn't a one-man show which can largely explain for delayment in adjusting to an OS structure overhaul.

Not able to run on my machine widows7x64. No updates and a bunch of problems. Have tested Avira products for years and must say I am dissapointed in this one.

the GUI is butt ugly. I really liked the old but this is a step backwards. All it does as prove as a top layer to the old settings one that is still there buried under the butt ugly one.:doubt:

But they want it easier for the end user (I do not like the GUI at all). They should give you a option to switch back to the old (v10) GUI.
