As I was testing 0-day samples, you may be right with your assumption.

I will have to withdraw and conduct some more tests and see if that's the case. I will come back with my result, probably tomorrow. If the same behavior occurs time after time with each file, I'll provide scan log, samples etc.

Mailing from the other pc now but this is confusing, I got the beta with the firewall and NO two minute freezes on the exact same files. Are the beta's the same, apart from the firewall? Both are 7904.

This here is a "fresh" pc, the other one a daily used one with "a history". Don't know why the latter one acts up like that. It's fully up to date and I have no issues with it whatsoever.

Hmmmmm, can I install this beta with the firewall on the other, "historic" pc too? Or have I to sign up again again :)

Decided to reinstall as my primary security on Windows 7x64.
My question is, and I apologize if this has been previously asked...

To make Secure Anywhere the most powerful & effective, what settings should I have for the Heuristics, etc, etc... I want to ensure this tight little security package can protect to it's highest capabilities.

It's good be default! But if you want to go hardcore, change heuristics to only allow known, trusted applications. Not something I'd do personally though.

    This will block most nasties.
You will receive warnings on almost every application you have installed, as the white list is not large.
If you trust the applications on your PC, then execute all the programs you have installed set them to allow. when you have done that, you will be very safe indeed.

Remember this is almost a default deny setting.

It will block many good Apps and files.

That said I think the average user will be safe using the default settings, possibly adding +1 notch on all heuristics settings.
Using this setting I have only encountered one FP.

Remember it is still in Beta, though it's been extremely stable in my testing.

    Regards

Is 7.9.0.7 now distributed as a public update or still it is targeted at a limited group? Yesterday I was still on 7.9.0.4.

Are you using any other security software? And what browsers are you using with version numbers? And I'm not sure if WSA is compatible with the Chinese language at the moment?

    Thanks,

    TH

What's the best place to report FP's from WRSA? I think I read that Joe said that the default emailadress wasn't the fastest option.

Writing into our support inbox is definitely the best way now as we have a much larger staff managing it.

    Thanks!

Can you try to shut down Dr Web for a test to see if you can input Chinese language into search engine as there could be a conflict with the two? If it doesn't work can you send a scan log to report@prevxresearch.com for they can have a closer look!

    TIA,

    TH

What is the latest version of WSA and where can I get a copy? It's been a rather long thread. Been away for a long time and I see this is very interesting.

If a new version comes along while/during testing the beta, is there a possibility to download the latest file again? I prefer clean install as to upgrade through updates.

Is the tech support handled by Webroot or still Prevx team? I remember before with Prevx team it'll be only a day(the most) and you'll get a reply. If it's Webroot now, how is it? Any experiences?

    -- This is a concern...

v8.0.05 has just appeared on my PC. Any ideas as to what the changes are given there is a major version no. change (unless it is once again to align with the rest of the Webroot stable...but didn't we just do that ;) )

The change log will be issued when the product goes to public beta. This update was pushed to private beta testers only.

Wrong in one sence, but I thought I heard an unspoken question from the OP; is this fixed in WSA? So maybe it was the right forum when we are at the bottom line?

    Best Regards

I know but I'm expecting the answer of the devs about the future product, they had to request to test the beta.

Just a small thing related to GUI ... all settings windows can be closed by button Close placed on the right bottom side except Protected Website where the Close button is missing. There is only button Save and Reset to Defaults. So if you want to close this option without saving you have to do that using the X in the right top corner. Therefore I suggest to add also button Close just next to Save.

    Hi Joe,
I apologize for the delay but I had to plan when I could run the system cleaner again as many of my settings were getting wiped out and I was having to reset up several of my softwares. Hence the delay in my response.

It seems that with either version 7.9.0.4 or 7.9.0.7 that the Trillian setting was removed from the settings options. Now that this setting is gone, I am not having any more problems with incorrect items being deleted. Even though this solves my problems for now, I will like eventually to see Trillian to return to the cleaning options.

I do have one issue that I was waiting to see if it went away or not, but it has not. I use a program from ARM Software called Macro Maker that I use to fill in repetitious items on web forms etc. It seems that WRSA blocks it unless I move the Identity and Privacy settings all the way down to low, which is less than ideal. I have tried changing/adding the executable to allowed in the WRSA setup areas previously mentioned in this thread. This has no effect on Macro Maker being blocked. IF you or someone could take a look at this, it would be greatly appreciated.
