Hey "Matthijs5nl" now run the second full scan and see if it completes before 1 hour and 30 minutes. (which is the time first scan took) :D

Please share the scan results with us. To see new Panda cloud cache improvements :argh:

    Regards,
    Dark Lord

That second full scan is already running, after I had restarted my pc I initiated one. Will post the results later.

    Only firewall running. :)

Well, after the setup Windows Firewall is still active, and I will also keep it active. If it has to be the only firewall running they should deactive it.

Second full scan time: 1 hour and 8 minutes

Looks good, but still room for improvement.

I don't know why they're even bothering with a firewall when the Windows one is fine. But your right in that if PCAV Pro is going to have a firewall it should either deactivate the Windows firewall or alert the user to do so. This sort of omission is going to mess up an uninformed user.

    ~ 15 GB

    First scan time: 52 minutes
    Second scan time: 38 minutes

Just to compare: A full scan with AVG took 12 minutes ...

Agreed, they both have a small offline database of more recent viruses.

It will. They know what they are doing. ;) And it is a beta after all, the firewall is not yet ready for prime time.

You can not compare Panda Cloud with AVG...

@windowsdefender AVG stores a database of signatures, like every other antivirus (including Panda Antivirus). Panda Cloud's cache is much smaller.

That would be a bad comparsion, as PCAV has to check files in the "cloud" while AVG just checks files agenst a database on the HDD

These results show us that the second scan reduces the scan time by around 30 mins or more. This is a great great improvement for the beta.

I'm sure that when the product reach the final version to 2.0 the scan speed will be much lot faster...... :argh: :D

I have the same situation here... when I look at System And Security- Action Center I see only windows firewall active. I think the firewall with panda cloud is an added feature to harden the outbound with program control But I might be wrong..:doubt:

The firewall is still in beta and still doesn't include the process to register in the Windows Security Center. This will be implemented in one of the next releases. Right now we're more interested in beta-testing the firewall itself.

Sorry for the confusion, I thought by completing the name there would be less confusion between me and cloud/windefend:ouch:

Again, you can not compare AVG with Panda Cloud.

Because Panda will be checking with the cloud whereas AVG will not as all signatures reside within the program and thus will be faster. Correct?

Yep. And it also depends on your internet connection. :)

If you have a slow internet connection this AV is not for you.

I have a slow internet connection and it runs just fine, I just let it scan and left the computer and then just let it do its background scans when ever I am not near the computer.

Sorry, I was just saying the scans might be slower.
