In the last couple years F-Secure has really become a solid performer in the traditional AV arena. I'm quite impressed with them.

The full systen od scan is fast, one of the fastest I have tried. The gui is as simple as it gets. Its not loaded with all the bells and whistles as some are,but if someone is looking for just easy no learning curve out of the box set and foget Antivirus, this is a good choice.

but what i like about it that it still keeps the options available for people that like to have that extra bit of control/info.

I'll have to try the 2011 version. With 2010, I found that F-Secure gave the end-user very little control which eventually outweighed the positives for me.

for me it gave me everything i required in an AV, it wasnt like some AV's which for some reason no longer even give u the option to have a prompt when a virus is detected which is absolutely necessary for me, and with the behaviour blocker u can have it to be automatic, or manual which is great.

For me those 2 things are the most important, im not really sure what kind of control u felt was lacking in the 2010 version since i dont think i used the 2010 version.

One thing i am no sure about, to open quarantine it needs elevated -admin privs UAC prompt.Kinda of weird if you ask me and I dont see any explanation of in the help files.I assume there is a reason for it but not sure why.

Straight from the horses mouth.F- secure DeepGuard incorporates a feature of network lookups to enable instant protection against emerging threats.

    How does it work?
F-Secure DeepGuard 2.0 detects when a windows application is launched.
The new network lookup feature ask the cloud about the application.
The cloud answers instantly within a fraction of a second.
DeepGuard 2.0 takes the appropriate action based on the clouds answer.Good applications are allowed and Bad applications are blocked.

I don't necessarily consider the number of processes to be a big deal, nevertheless I'm curious as to how many are present?

There is 9 processes running in total but most are under 2 k except 1 in the 30 ish k.I have it on a netbook-atom and its rolling along perfectly. In fact if I unload the servces there is a very small increase in speed hardly noticeable.

The new F-Secure 2011 Beta does not allow Malwarebytes Antimalware to update. MBA is not used in real time, only on demand, so there is no conflict.
    Cheers :D

Good Afternoon ! Just started a Thirty Day Trial with Anti-Virus 2011. So far I'm surprised at how quick and responsive it is as compared to earlier versions. And I like the feature of being able to exclude certain files during scanning. Just a general question, I noticed on the U.S.A.Website that you can purchase the Internet Security at the same price as the Anti-Virus app $39.95 for 3 p.c.'s for 1 yr. How long is this offer valid for? Sincerely...Securon

F-Secure 2011 is not in beta, however FIS 2012 Is BETA.As far as MBAM updates, its working fine on my end.You are aware you have manually update it.If its being blocked for some reason check your start up programs in FS task > start programs. If its blocked double click on MBAM and change to allow.
