Sorry but tried a few times to post this & cannot see it.

    1. If I backup my XP cd can I use it instead of my Master one? or does it become different.

    2. Why does it take too long when I on "Addto Fafourites" to open the appropriate window/dialog?

What will you be using to make a copy of you XP cd? A copy could indeed be used instead of the original cd

adding to favourites in what prog?

Perhaps Nero, a clone or an imaging program?.

    What is the best.

Because I destroyed by mistake my master ms.office cd & now use the backup I had made, I do not want to use the master XP cd.

What do you mean "....adding to favourites in what prog?...."

You can copy the Windows CD using any burning program such as Nero or ashampoo, etc. The copy will then function exactly the same as the original, there's no copy protection to worry about such as with a game disc.

It makes no difference to functionality if you just copy it directly or create an ISO first.I create an ISO so that I have a backup to hand in case the original source disc becomes damaged;since I don't tend to create a copy from another copy.

    1. Yes you can use the copied cd to install Windows.

    2. You can even use free IMG Burn to first create an image file from the master, then burn that file to a blank cd.

Is your original xp cd sp1/sp2/sp3? If its the older version, just slipstream it. The sliptstream software will take your old xp cd and add all the changes to make the later version.
