You can remove an entry by right clicking on a currently inactive process and selecting "Remove this entry".

You can't remove active processes with active connections because they would just be added again immediately, but if there is an inactive process, it can be removed.

Let me know if that makes sense!

Would you recommend a fresh install of 7.9.0.7 for me, to see if this improves things? Or should I wait on outcome of info gleaned from log-collecting utility for a few days? Thanks :)

Ok, I was not aware of that. All the ones I had been right clicking on before had active connections. I just tried it, and I was able to remove an application from the list. I'm not really sure why processes with active connections couldn't be removed, and then have WSA prompt the user again whither to allow or deny the connection. Also, I would like to see a third column under network applications allow, block, and ask. I know WSA gives the user an option to allow once, but if you allow it adding it to the network applications list then it can be annoying to remove if that application is always listening for incoming connections.

    Version 7.9.0.7

    Shutdown issues seem fixed.
IE8, FF 5.0.1, seem to be working fine.

    W7 pro x64
IE9, FF 6. Google, etc. searches working( no blank page), however no check mark on search page with either browser.

Are you perhaps using Avast as well as WSA on your Win7 PC?

Yes, Disabling AIS completely solves issue, Disabling " Web Shield " only does not (worked on last build).

I ran a test of the Firewall (Windows FW also on) over at Gibsons - his Shields UP. He says it failed that test (Which I havent passed since Outpost days) and it was the following that didnt pass:

Ping Reply: RECEIVED (FAILED) — Your system REPLIED to our Ping (ICMP Echo) requests, making it visible on the Internet. Most personal firewalls can be configured to block, drop, and ignore such ping requests in order to better hide systems from hackers. This is highly recommended since "Ping" is among the oldest and most common methods used to locate systems prior to further exploitation.

Q: Can I configure WSAPB FW to block and drop etc such Ping requests?

    Best Regards

No, WSAPB is not designed to stealth. You may want to try fixing the Ping directly into your thomson router (as I see from you signature).

I'm currently testing WSA with Comodo FW/D+ (no AV) on my XP x32 SP3 machine. So far, so good with no inclusions/exclusions.

    OK something new to learn.

So to ask if anyone have tested this suite against Matousecs 148 testprogram is no idea? WSA is built up in another way so it need not pass such a test, but can protect anway?

If there is a short explanaition for someone who is not savvy - if you have the time - I would appreciate it.

    Best Regards

In fact, its your router firewall filtering all incoming calls (not windows or webroot firewall), you will need to configure it not to answer to pings. Most router have this option. You need to connnect to the router console. Review your router manual to know how to do it. If you have never done also remember to change the default router access password.

Thanks - I ve changed the password and I think this model couldnt bet setup to handle the pings - but I will check again. Once upon a time I had Outpost FW and I think it handled this or maybe - as you said - the router I had at the time did.

    Best regards

I noticed that a software that I use for virtual drives (WinMount) doesn't run at all when WSA is active (and I get no prompt)...

After I did a clean install of 7.9.0.7 earlier, I noticed that PWI firewall had been marked as "deny" in Protected Applications. Do I need to just reset as "allow" or "protect" as I wish, presumably.
But why should it have been categorised as "deny" without user instruction, is my main question, please?

Yeah TH, I'm still meeting up with some mysteries along the way, for example, the padlock on tray icon appeared after I cleaned IE9 history/temp files, but was not there immediately before.
This is some wonderful, comprehensive software, but perhaps very "sensitive" at present...will be great when released, I am certain.
My WRData folder is now 1.21MB...for the time being :)
