    Hey Jeff,
I see your point. i used to like products with lots of settings. but these days i prefer products that have the right settings out of the box. at most people will open up the interface to run a scan they will never look at the settings.
It is hard for companies to strike a balance between detection versus usability but some vendors do it very well. I haven't actually tried panda cloud.

Lodore my friend, I always think back to a long time ago when you use to look at products on how well your family members would take to them in ease of use. And that holds true today. So I say that with respect to your family as they have been my guiding light at times. Remember F-Secure and how you hated it. Lol

Pandas Cloud is made for the 99.9 percent of people who want some simple and can basically forget about it. You should try it. Not saying it will meet your needs but at least give it a whirl. I really think that most products here are geared at 2 things. Either being bought out by a bigger fish as we have seen, or creating the model for their business product. Case in point, Eset. I honestly feel the HIPS module is not for the average user but more for their business consumers.

I want a product for me, not the idiot I work for. Panda has products for me and for the idiots.:argh:

I agree Jeff. Panda Cloud becomes better and better and better :thumb:

Personally I will always choose between ESET, Webroot SA, And Panda Cloud.
They all seem to offer something that's very simple but yet advanced!

Btw, guys, the firewall is functional in this version. It just hasn't been integrated into Action Center yet. ;)

Compatibility with Firefox 6 may need to be taken into account now since that was released this week.

Panda Cloud Antivirus 2.0 will be free? If so, what a great deal seeing as it now has a firewall.

How about the on-demand-scans? :doubt: A full scan with Panda Cloud 1.5.1 took about 2 hours for 25 GB ...

Wow! I finally found a person with even slower scanning times with PCAV than I had. Probably someone will now tell you that it is not really an issue since Panda is cloud-based and, therefore, slower at on-demand scanning. At least, I was told so. Like that explained that ESET scans my pc in 35 minutes and Panda Cloud and 2 hours and 35 minutes. The extremely slow on-demand scanning is an issue since the very first version of Panda Cloud, I have seen lots of replies about it on the Internet and somehow it is just not being fixed.
I submitted a log collected by the Panda diagnostic tool two months ago, they were going to take a look at it. I never received any answer though. It always has been my favourite free antivirus which I always recommended to others, since then I recommend avast!.

Do you scan your system often? Have you uninstalled Panda Cloud recently?

Maybe Panda Cloud could use a scan priority option? ;)

    Re: 1.9.1 beta released

Unfortunately I am not seeing any of the disk i/o improvements that were supposed to be in this version.

Regarding scan time and disk i/o improvements, try version 1.9.1 and then run a full scan to make sure its cache fills up. After that you should see an improvement.

No you can't. Because PCAV is not designed like Prevx to work alongside other AV's in real-time.

But you don't need PCAV with that setup :D

Perhaps you could use Prevx along PCAV i'm not sure.
