    Hello,

Maybe not related at all but, anyone using Raxco PerfectCache with SS4 on their system?

On my end, it creates files corruptions after a system shutdown. So, I want to rule out it's because of SS4.

I contacted them and got a refund for my $55 USD

Although I got good results (according to benchmarks) with some improvements. After I format my system , install all my apps, after a few restarts, out of nowhere, Windows will say it is running in start up recovery mode and it keeps searching for ways to fix my boot files but never finds any solution.

This happened twice so I am sure it was PerfectCache.

The only product that I have used for years from Raxco that is actually good, is PerfectDisk

Their PerfectRegistry has nothing to do with Perfect, it will break any PCs registry with a simple scan / fix, its reg defrag renders PerfectDisk's Boot time Defrag non functional and their tech support are aware of that and don't know what's causing this.

Thank god I got my refunds

Actually, I am happy I am not the only one LOL

I trust Raxco's products so much I bought all their programs. Only to be disappointed that they wrecked my PC.

    1st Example:

PerfectRegistry, contrary to what the name implies, Perfect, it caused programs to no longer work after I fixed the errors it found. Not only that, but when I did a registry defrag, after the restart, PerfectDisk can no longer do its own Boot files defrag, when you select Boot Time defrag, the system restarts but nothing happens. The tech support are aware of the issue. The program is far from being ready to be released to the public IMO.

2nd Example: Next come PerfectCache, I did benchmarks with PassMark, NovaBench, and PCMark, and they all showed an improvement after using PerfectCache, so I bought it and used it for a while. Out of the blue, its like a virus would hit my system and the files in C: would be messed up causing programs to not launch and if you restart, that's it, your Windows is blown.

I lost faith and trust completely in Raxco after these 2 incidents. When I called Customer Service they said they would raise a technical complaint for me but I refused and asked for my money back, I am not ready to be Beta testing uncomplete products that harm the system so bad. Had I been a corporation that was actually hurt by this, I would have sued them.

Luckily, it is my personal system and no losses were incurred other than wasting a whole day for every format.

    PerfectDisk
on the other hand, is a very mature product, it is the best DiskDefragmentor hands down that I have ever used. Its Smart Placement defrag placed the most frequently used programs at the beginning of the disk for faster access. And it also has a Boot time defrag which defragments boot files, hibernation, and page file which are usually locked and cannot be accessed by Windows.
