I would like to know what feed reader members of Wilders use. As there are plenty of them, it wouldn't be possible/feasible to list all of them here;so please specify the specific program(s)/component(s) you use to read RSS feeds. Thank you.
Firefox Bookmarks Toolbar Internet Explorer Favorites bar Both support Live Bookmarks. With Firefox, I also use LiveClick.
Google Reader and Feeddemon 4 for PC & Feedler Pro on the Ipad. Synchronisation with Google is #1 requirement for software readers for me.
None. I visit my bookmarks daily and if not, RSS just reports, that the webpage is updated, like I would not know that, so it is useless for me.
Hmm.... I get a lot more that just notifications. I get the whole article in most of my feeds, if not I at least have a headline to read to determine if I want to read more. Does a whole lot more than just tell me the page is updated. Most of the time I do all of my reading in the reader. Oh I use RSSOwl http://www.rssowl.org/
Same here with Liferea (Linux). I find it very handy not having to wade through things that don't interest me (sports, adverts, entertainment, etc) to find new news.
You know, i gave that one a pass last time i looked at it. I saw your post the other day, and tried it again. I switched from Liferea, mostly because of the "Headlines" View. It was one thing Brief (FF addon) did that i missed. Sort of combined view, or newspaper view on RSSOwl, only expanding the entry i choose, collapsing all others. Fantastic, i makes a much better reading experience, with better performance than Liferea. Maybe it's because the archives are not as big right now And now the news on Java. Geez.. A Java program that i can use often, and now this. Anyway, ty for that post!
I voted client software though it isn't always what I use at any given time. I am currently using the free version of FeedDemon though I am frustrated with the paid to free to ad supported to the current pay or free ad supported limited version. If the free version has ads it is still not free and should not be feature limited. Anyway I guess this poll isn't about that... I sometimes use google reader but I really don't like the layout of it. I have used RSS Bandit in the past and liked it but it feels mostly like abandonware at the moment. Maybe I will learn of something here that I will like better than any of them.
Your welcome. I stumbled on RSSOwl a while back. I tried just about everything out there, nothing seem to fix my style until I found RSSOwl.
