I see the update for 10 today required a reboot. That's the first time since SP2.

Yep some times with some updates you need to restart to update system files such as kernakl hooks.

The cloud won't be included in AV12, but there will be a standalone beta scanner at the end of the year.

A big change from the original post in this thread. What's the current situation on the beta?

They're so slow, I won't be stupefied if somebody else will buy them.
They are way above the competition now and going down... :(

I just know. What they may test internally wont make it out this year.

Now for those who see gloom with Avira, there really isnt. Avira is very strong as a company and has no plans of going under. I said this at the start of the year, that they would see what works for others and what doesnt.Stefan eleuded to Version 2. It will be sometime next year and will revolutinize how malware is fought. When it is ready, then people will see what they are capable of.

It's not like it's secret or costs money to register. If the information is there, where else do you want me to link?

And "I just know" isn't enough.

Ok, but without any kind of source it's just a random rumor on an internet forum.

Perhaps he is confined to someone he knows who works at Avira or restrictions of an NDA.
