Don't you have installed Opera? Because this feature isn't implemented in Opera yet.

This is where I mean the feature appears to be incomplete; yes, there are green tick marks, but they only point to webroot.com for now. Incidentally, I've not seen any red checkmarks.

I had to uninstall the beta a month or so ago as I had issues with some other software and needed to solve that without AV installed.

Now I see its a new version, but I can't install the beta. It doesn't seem to accept my licence key. (says I am not online, which I am).

Do I need to sign up again for the beta now its public or should the key I have work?

I want to see if they have solved one of my issues. I never did get a reply from support, so mybe they are still working on it.

I have it with FF 5.0.1 and and IE9 but Opera shows nothing and it only takes you to webroot.com when you click on the green check mark! I use Java v7 if it matters?

Still waiting for the AV only version to test. Guess I'm the minority that has no interest in a suite.

Thanks for the screeny TH, was beginning to think I needed new glasses :D
Will install Java under Shadow Defender later to see if that has anything to do with it.

You can use the suite all you have to do is disable the Firewall and Identity Shield then it's just the AV version! It's still the same Download but the keys are what gives you the suite or the AV only!

The firewall component of wsa is compatible with avast internet security, right? So how does it actually worko_O? I mean avast's firewall is already functioning.
It's not like the 'compatible av system' where one can intercept first or second. But the two firewalls working at the same time!:ouch:

And also, is the identity shield and other components fully compatible with any other secutiy suites(they also have the same funtions you know)?

I'm getting a somewhat weird picture here of how wsa is shaping out.o_O

It's gonna be a full fledged security suite compatible with any other full fledged security suite and can be run at the same time.o_O

Maybe Joe can provide you with a command prompt to use to install without the Firewall and Identity Shield. He did just that for me back when I wanted Prevx only without any trace of SafeOnline. The command prompt opened the normal install screen, but when I installed, I saw SafeOnline with a red 'X' instead of a green checkmark, and none of the components had been installed.
I'd gladly post the command prompt I used but it would have no bearing on what you want to do.
    Good luck. :)

Could someone please review the "firewall" for us that have yet to try the beta?

I'm behind a router but looking for strong outbound protection and am sick and tired of trying to mix and match programs

    Thanks!!!

They just point there as a placeholder, but they're doing database checks in the background. Google does a good job of removing bad search results so it's possible you won't run into one in normal use. It does, however, tie into the Web Threat Shield's website filtering so you can see the red checkmarks if you're Google/Yahoo/Bing searching for a website you've blocked via that configuration.

There is indeed some room for improvement with regard to compatibility for different browsers. Search result filtering is a minor feature as we're already checking every actual URL visited (it is more just to give the user a quick status check on what they might be visiting).

The firewall is highly configurable - by default it tries to be as silent as possible, but you can configure it to be rather chatty if wanted. Let me know if you have any questions on it.

It looks like we don't yet have the firewall and other features included in the help file (and it is using the old UI design) but you can get some additional information here: http://www.webrootcloudav.com/advicenow.asp

I can confirm that WSA is now fully compatible with Admuncher together with Chrome and Internet Explorer even if they're set at "protected" and with SafeOnline module settings at high! :thumb:

The commandline from Prevx 3 doesn't work anymore but now it actually listens to fully disabling the features (you can toggle off the Firewall and Identity Shield if wanted). We do have an AV-Only beta on-going but I'm not sure how to sign up for that at the moment as the page I posted here was originally the AV-Only beta signup page.

I'll see what we're doing with this - we may be wanting beta testers to test as much as possible initially to get as much feedback as we can.

    Thanks!

It works just like any other firewall - it is monitoring and inspecting all of the traffic on your PC and correlating it to running processes. The main issue with firewalls in the past has been system performance and some fundamental architectural issues with the OS and registering more than one firewall at a time.

We've worked around these and have a new design which is fully compatible. The Identity Shield is also fully compatible with other, similar products. We've been testing against most of the popular suites and haven't had any problems that we couldn't fix but please let me know if you find anything!

You may want to try a new signup - we have been making several changes to the licensing system and if you're using an old key, it's possible it is producing an error rather than allowing you through.

The download location will have definitely changed since when you first downloaded - let me know if you still get the prompt and I can take a closer look.
