Probably a failed attempt to attract potential investors or buyers of TH?

Might be they have changed mind about creating cloud.

I just tested it for the first time in a few years and received a free Christmas gift. Two turtle doves and a false positive. Nicely played for one of the most expensive pieces of home/personal security software on the market.

You can buy 2 years of AVAST Internet security suite which includes, firewall, e-mail protect, sandbox, safe-zone and a 30 day free trial that actually works. It may not be the answer to a trojan free lifestyle (I'm old), but it's a better value.

By the way TH is identifying software installation file that is almost as old as me:). I would call that being a little behind the curve.

Is head in cloud or up a**? You tell me!

We're still working on a Cloud version, but it's obviously been delayed. It will however still be free. pinktuxedo, if you have the name and/or version of that setup file that we're incorrectly identifying I'd love to fix it.

It may be of interest for folks here that while the actual client (TrojanHunter Cloud) has been delayed, the cloud database has not... we've been actively working on it for the past year and have a quite massive database up in the cloud, ready to be used.

Magnus maybe you can get together with Erik Loman (HitmanPro by SurfRight) and incorporate your cloud database into HitmanPro.

I got a license of the regular TH for 2 years IIRC some time ago and decided not to renew. I think that this app may be a bit out of the game nowadays. It's just my opinion but I really don't see how good can be a cloud protection against trojans. Neither I see how can I benefit from a full scanner with realtime protection against trojans.

As of late I try to use a system as minimalistic as I can so to have a full featured antimalware program plus an antitrojan one is a bit overkill for my taste. I understand that TH isn't enough to protect systems. Not to mention that trojans are only one part of the problems nowadays.

This is not for bashing the product nor the author but I think that in a realistic world TH cannot be a big actor. Maybe if it turned into a more complete antimalware program I could consider coming back.

Nevertheless, good luck for TH and a happy new year for the author! :-* :-* :-*

Despite its name, TrojanHunter detects all sorts of malware (except viruses), not just "trojans".
