Good grief, lol. I call it a day after MBAM and Avast have a look around.

    Can't be too careful.

I wouldn't bother if it were simple downloads. At this point I've realized that if I run them at low integrity I'm fairly immune.

But Java is only protected by EMET and Comodo and those exploits looked successful so EMET didn't help a hell of a lot with that lol therefor I'm relying on Comodo's sandboxing...

Well you can never be sure enough, eh? :D

Say Hungry, by "low integrity", do you mean UAC/LUA or something else?

m00n explained it best. Unfortunately I can't find the quote right now lol

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb625957.aspx

Basically all files and folders have integrity levels. The three main integrity levels are Low, Medium, and High. Integrity levels can't look up ie: they can't make writes to something with a higher integrity.

By setting my downloads folder and all of the items in it to low integrity I stop those files from writing to higher integrity areas.

When I wan tto run something legit I simple copy it and paste it into my "everything" folder, which is medium integrity.

Sure thing. I wouldn't recommend messing with the default integrity levels of your system though.

I replaced avast! Free Antivirus (avast! default uninstaller for version 6 is worse than version 5's) by the latest Norton Internet Security beta. I will also repeat here what I said on the Norton beta topic:

I have got a request for Norton and the other vendors.
I want an option at the start of the installation which makes sure no browser extension/plugin/add-on/toolbar/helper object will be installed. They are driving me crazy.

ESET is one of the few vendors which doesn't use any browser extension (nor anything like an account in the user interface), maybe one of the reasons why ESET is my favourite product. Also avast! is clean when you deselect WebRep during custom installation.

Finished all of the scans. I'm thoroughly convinced that I'm not infected. Quite a few successful java exploits launched but none of them managed to do what they wanted.

They have two different beta's running right now. One has the firewall and network security and the other is AV only which I am trialing. The AV only license is for 90 days. Not sure what the other one is.
