    Hi,

I have an computer xp ,and I am trying to install ESET Smart Security version 4 on it, but during the beginning of the installation, it shows F-Secure Software might interfere with ESET Smart Security. So, I followed the steps showed on how to uninstall F-Secure, but after uninstalling I still see Shaw Secure folder still left in C Program Files. I couldn't manually delete the folder because whenever I try to delete the folder it says cannot delete domainNames.dat: Access is denied. I have already try the uninstalling tool, but it still didnt work. In the Shaw Secure folder there are Anti-Virus, Common, FSGUI, FSPC, FWES, NRS, Setup, Spam Control sub folders ,and several other files.

Is there any way to delete Shaw Secure folder or if I select the box that says ignore warning and continue installation, will I have any problems in the future?

    Thank you,
    icetea

    Hello icetea
I have found a thread regarding uninstallation of F-secure in F.secures own forum. There may be some information you can use...or maybe not. Otherwise you can always open a case in F-secure forum, I cannot imagine other that they are willing to help.

    The link: http://forum.f-secure.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12722

Best Regards and have a nice day

There is a registry key you need to remove, but as i'm not in the office right now I can't look it up for you. Search the registry for F-Secure.

A second option is (If you're sure that everything is gone) using IGNORE_CONFLICTS=1 as a command line parameter when opening the installer.

    Hello,

If you are certain you have removed all files and directories containing the F-Secure software from your computer, try searching the Windows System Registry for the
    [HKEY_LOCAL_Machine\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\System\F-Secure Gatekeeper]
key, exporting a copy for safekeeping, deleting it and then trying to install ESET Smart Security.

    Regards,
