I think when you turn off the Auto-pilot you will have to make decisions for infected filest, etc? Or not?

In 2012 if it finds malware during a scan it asks if the user wants BD to take 'proper actions'. The user will have no idea what that means, it doesn't give the option to quarantine, delete or ignore; just proper actions or not take proper actions.

I've been hearing some comments about the Bitdefender 2012 and really think I better not buy it, despite its excellent price.

It seems to be a product that deserved a little more development time because it is simply impossible to install it on my VM with Windows 7 x64. Always gives error.

Personally I uninstalled BDIS 2012 and I'm back to Norton IS 2011. I'm very sad because I'm from Romania and I was really excited about the 2012 release keep saying that I will finally use it and will be the best and will be proud of a product made in my country:(. Now on NIS 2011 sincerely I can say that browsing speed is noticeable faster, no high ping on www.speedtest.net and less slowdown on the system, they still have to search for improvements on their software :)

I agree. I saw the same issues with BD. In addition vsserv.exe pounds the cpu, and can use a ton of memory at times. I think BD2012 is solid, but not the best choice out there. Glad I did not buy it.

i tried three different speedtests, and with all of them with BD pings were 700-1000+. Without they are 10-25. And the reason I started checking the speedtests was because my surfing seemed a bit slower. Maybe it was not ready to be let out of beta?

it's response time, together with jitter is more important than bandwidth for gaming, surfing etc. the lower the better, i have 100mg virgin cable, which was worse than 8 meg bt until they sorted out a local over utilisation problem.
my ping is 7 with bitdefender it goes 39.
    test yours http://www.pingtest.net/

if you disable network traffic scanning they will be the same, they both use java so god knows!
I get the same thing using outlook, avast and eset seem to give true results. my download speed is 40% over what I actually get on speed net with bitdefender, I think it bottlenecks the traffic somewhat. I however have no idea what I am talking about :-D

Dropped BitDefender for now. The amount of technical support they offer on their forums is far too limited. Going to try out the new F-Secure beta version 1.39.

Hopefully BD picks up their game in the coming months; they are going to need it if they want to remain competitive with other software security companies.

I feel they should pay more attention to their forums otherwise they should remove them and replace it with only email support.

Once they've got all the bugs ironed out it will be a good product. Detection wise its great, its just the application itself which requires fixing.

EDIT: I also don't like how its not compatible with MBAM. Thats one of the reasons I un-installed it.

You can talk to them LIVE, on www.bitdefender.co.uk at Support they have Live Chat. You can ask them any question about anything they can't run from you luckyly :))

EDIT : I checked their webpage again and the LIVE CHAT is GONE! It seems like they CAN run from us :|
