Panda IS 2011 had the same thing, I had to uninstall MBAM first, install my AV then reinstall MBAM afterwards. Maybe the same thing for BD?

I didn't tryed that, the ping thing happens to mee too, a lot of bugs in it, but seems lighter than 2011 versions. Also I get errors when I try to update, and TrafficLight sometimes can't scan the links getting an error. :(

I installed Bitdefender AV Plus 2012. I could not boot the system and did a repair install in safe mode which solved the issue. Still I cannot connect to internet using the sandboxed browser. The sandboxed browser launches but can't connect. Other than these the product is very light on system resources and I don't get any system slow down.

Thank God it's not Officialy Released, because personally I think it is not ready for that. They should give it more time in Beta Stage. There are still bugs, the services are not responding (got that three times already), the auto-pilot button doesn't work as it should, the Yahoo Messenger encryption button doesn't stay ON(I turn it on and it goes off once I close the BitDefender window), and the ping on eg: www.speedtest.net is very unusual ... It's a pitty because their detection is the best :(

It's going to be officially released today, as per their website.

It's a nice product, but could use more development time IMO. The CPU usage is high, and the web filter seems to slow some sites.

I hope he is nice and light.

Does anyone know if it lets you choose the language in the installation?

There is the 2012 version in PT/BR?

How come that I download the Internet Security version and when I install it it's Total Security?
Another thing, when I try to enable encription for Yahoo Messenger it automatically turns OFF after I close the window...anyone get this?
And, in Google Chrome latest stable build when I click on Sandbox it doesn't load pages anymore...

It should be a known issue, it's been reported in the Beta section.

Running great for me...only thing I couldn't get to work is the credit report thingy which is free! It gave me a number to call, I'll check it out later.

Smooth, very fast, low RAM, I'm only seeing three processes running also, which is a big deal to me..didn't it used to have like 30:D

I'm running just the AV...it does include the Anti-Theft protection.

Installed BD TS 2012 on my computer using the license I got from the 2011 version. It will prompt you to uninstall 2011 first if you have it on the computer. The 2012 installation process also forces the user to uninstall MalwareBytes before it will continue if the user has it installed.

The GUI for 2012 is awesome in my opinion. The new tray icon is a pretty big change from their old logo (sort of reminds me of Bull Guard's tray icon). It missed a few phishing sites that I tested out but blocked malware before it could be executed, most cases before it was downloaded via the website blocking.

It uses about 200MB of RAM for all of its processes on idle (Active Virus Control set to aggressive rather than normal by default and the IDS settings on aggressive rather than turned off by default). It didn't really impress me too much apart from the GUI as there still seems to be a few ongoing bugs they are ironing out. Going to try it out for awhile and see how it goes in any case.

    - Microsoft Office 2010 doesn't seem to work by default. The user will need to add exceptions to all of the executable files.

    here you go ;) :

Autopilot is disabled if the user tampers with security related settings.
e.g. Turn AutoPilot on. Disable Auto Update from main view => AutoPilot is disabled.

Here is a screenshot of the memory used up during a full scan:

EDIT: I posted a question on the BD forums and its been half a day since anyone's replied. There is a huge lack of activity on those forums, thinking of dropping this program completely since there are so many compatibility issues.

i didn't notice browsing slowdown on any of the machines i tested, including a netbook, dual core notebook and my very well specced desktop. i'm an avid gamer on my desktop and noticed no latency increase or anything, nor did i notice any throughput change of my internet connection.

dunno what to tell you other than if you're concerned, maybe contact bitdefender support.

while testing the retail version (and this was true with the last few betas as well) i only saw 200MB memory usage when the product was performing an on-demand scan, and only for a moment or two, right after it started scanning. after that, it held around 90MB or so during the remainder of the scan. at idle, all its processes on the three machines i tested it on averaged ~15-30mb. during updates, it increases slightly, then returns to normal. then again, i didn't raise AVC or enable IDS except during the first phase of beta testing i did, and even then, i didn't really see higher-than-normal memory utilization. also, i didn't experience any issues running office 2010 (i regularly use excel, word and outlook for work)

at any rate, unused memory = wasted memory.

I installed this at the Windows 7 Ultimate K Service Pack 1 (x64), too and this astonished me in a good manner. Eventually I made a good purchase this time. It seems that this runs very well with each of the very recent beta of the AppGuard and the Sandboxie.

It lacks granular settings that were a mine of gold in the previous versions, and this sucks IMO.Indeed,as a poster was wondering in another post, what it will be the reaction when a malware is found?Delete, how it was in previous versions and it's a big mistake, without to move the file and make a copy in quarantine?:thumbd:
