This is really a good deal for those looking to buy AV. moreover bit defender seems to be doing great at various tests too .

They probably want to get more people onto BD 2012 when it comes out very shortly. I've enjoyed using it in the past and it scores well on just about every test its a part of so I'll be one of them.

It's very tempting, I got one of the free licenses and only used the product for a day and a half it weighed a ton, this was just the AV I think it was 2011, not quite sure. Is 2012 going to be a lighter smoother version, I wonder?

I'm waiting to hear users experiences with the new 2012 version. I want to know if it's still buggy. It's been buggy for the last 4 years with each release. The engine is fantastic but the program around it has had bugs of some kind with every release for the last 4 years.

I really hope the 2012 release is good. Bitdefender was one of my favorites.

Yeah I can concur with the bugginess. I had the AV installed with a free trial. It did slow things down a bit and I had one instant when it froze the system for a few minutes. I'm still thinking about grabbing a license anyway. Then I'll have to hope that the 2012 release will be better.

Running BIS 2011 on windows 7 x 64, with no issue at all. I must say that 2012 version don't look to good for me, for many reasons, one of them the lack of configuration.

Qlimax, you mean configuration can't be modified or drop certain components?

Thanks. So this for sure upgrades to 2012? I may try this at that price. I guess if I purchased and did not like it I could then go with the Outpost free competitive upgrade offer.

uninstalled g data 2012 and bitdefender 2011 is much lighter, so 2012 will be probably even better

anyone know if I order the internet security suite whether I can choose to only install the antivirus?

I would also like to know. I think I probably only want the AV, but it's hard to pass on the full suite when it is the same price. I would like to buy the suite, and install the AV, with the option to install the suite at a later date if I so choose.

Can somebody please tell me if BDTS has a similar feature to Kapsersky Pure, re storage of passwords?

Kapsersky Pure stores all the passwords and has a password unlock too. It has a fully integrated Password Manager built into it.

Please advise what BitDefender TotalSecurity has.

    Thanks

You'll find the features of BD TS here:

    http://www.bitdefender.com.au/solutions/total-security.html

BitDefender doesn't have an integrated password manager but if you use FireFox then the LastPass add-on is one of the best password managers around as it is heavily encrypted both on the servers and locally.

Oh well, thanks for $9 what do I have to lose?

I use IE9, so what am I going to do, re passwords, use Kaspersky Password Manager or rely on cookies?

I do have a lengthy password list and Kaspersky does help me with that, so maybe I should just stick with them.
