    SAS results are pathetic.

It is the Pro version but the free version is identical except for the safe zone and the sandbox feature. both avast free and pro have the Autosandbox feature.

My thoughts on Prevx are, the folks needed to sooth this product have been busy creating the new Webroot product. Without their undivided attention this is what happens. And that bothers me that a product needs a baby-sitter to excel. Without them they poop in their pants.

Good point. Forgot about the Webroot connection.

@trjam I'm sure they have separate teams dedicated to supporting the stable Prevx product and to developing the new Webroot-branded product.

I don't think the missed samples can be blamed on the development work on the new Webroot product. There'll be different teams working on the program and the database backend. Anyway, Prevx will have those missed threats now as all missed samples are sent to vendors.

What's up with SAS? I can't even remember the last time a test of any kind indicated that this was a viable security app.
(I only keep it around due to owning a lifetime license I purchased a few years back so I figure I'm not out anything by running it every now and again.)

As long as it is surrounded by strong programs (as I see by your setup, it is) then you might be right... you are not "out anything". I was in your same situation, and I took a very different course. I got it off my machines. My reasoning was, since I believed I'd made a mistake by purchasing, I saw no sense in compounding the error by letting it run on my computers. Trust certainly became an issue as well. Every program that I run on my machine had better be one that I feel 100% confident about. I didn't, so I don't. ;)

I agree and I have. If there's a compelling reason to revisit the app down the road I'll have a look at that time.

Don't forget to include Emsisoft, Defensewall, Zemana & Zemana Anti-Malware (which as I understand it is rebranded Hitman Pro)...:thumb:
