Is there a way to fire up a scan (running in the GUI) from the commandline in version 4.2?
In version 2.70 we used this:
    "%ProgramFiles%\Eset\nod32.exe" /local /all /scroll+ /quit+

This fired up the scanner, scanned the local drives, and exited when ready.

Now in 4.2 there is the commandline scanner ecls, but it is not integrated in RA.
When I scan the system with ecls, the results are not reported to the RA system.
When I scan from the GUI, they are.

During the weekend we automatically wake up all computers to do system maintenance (upgrade/hotfix installation etc) and a full virus scan, at the end of which the system shuts down.
Doing scans from a planned task is not really what I like as it tends to interfere with normal use of the system, it is not clear when the task is finished (and the system can be shut down), etc.

Because of the RA integration, I would like to fire up a GUI scan (even though nobody is watching).

Is the question too difficult to answer? Or is it a FAQ for which I can find
    the answer elsewhere?

    Hello,
unfortunately it's not possible to start a GUI on-demand scan. What you can only do is run a scan with ecls using the appropriate parameter enabling logging and point it to store logs somewhere on a server where you can process them further, if necessary. Of course, these logs will not make it to ERA.
The good news is that server and business products, starting with EMSX 4.3 (already available), will have an option to control EAV functions from the command line. That said, they will allow for running a GUI scan by means of a command or script containing a set of commands.

We are using EAV Business Edition.
We just updated from 2.70 to 4.2.71 and now I find we lost this functionality.
Will this feature be available again in a future version of this program?

Thanks. It seems we updated a bit too early (after staying with the old version for too long)...

Certainly not. V2 does not protect against newly emerging malware as good as v4/v5 does.

Does the final version of V5BE have the same release date as the normal edition or when we can expect the V5BE (beta), or will there be none?

And do you also plan to add this function in a next release of V4? (4.3?)

I've mentioned it before that business edition of v5 is being developed and will be available later.

This functionality is (will be) available in all server products based on v. 4.3 (currently only EMSX).
