    Hi Guys.

Can our existing Mail Security for Exchange 2.7 be upgraded over the top to Version 4.3 or is it best to Uninstall 2.7 first and reboot ?

    Windows 2003 Server sp2/Exchange 2003 sp2.

    Thanks

    Jason

    Hello,

Upgrading ESET Mail Security for Exchange is one of the times when pushing over the top is definitely NOT recommended. Anytime you upgrade from a 2.x build to a 3.x or 4.x build, you will want to uninstall and reboot first. They are completely different engines and redesigned. Also, saving the configuration will not work either because the 2.x build has a separate configuration section in the configuration editor. You will need to find the corresponding settings in the "ESET Smart Security, ESET NOD32 Antivirus" section and configure them appropriately.

    Thanks,

    Matt

    Thanks Matt for the response.

I thought IT would be best to remove the old version first. ITs too much of a version leap to go from 2.X to 4.X
