Yes, that's great news! I hope the protection is enhanced to stop some attacks that some of the exploit analyst here at Wilders tested AG against, and said AG was vulnerable to. Hopefully I can still find the thread, and post if its needed.

I spoke with Barb this morning. We remain on track to release a beta this week. We're still running the software through some internal tests. Barring any show-stoppers found by our test group, we'll release it Wednesday or Thursday this week.

    Cheers,

    Eirik

Since their company is based in Virginia, and I'm a Virginian, I wish them all the success in the world. Eirik seems to be a very nice dude. Also, I, as well, am looking forward to this new beta version.

    Later...

    Bob

A changelog post in this thread would be very informative when the beta's released! :)

I'll post a release notes PDF later today that I hope provides what you seek. I expect to post the beta software late this afternoon or early this evening (eastern time zone).

    Cheers,

    Eirik

Hi All, Get Ready to Beta!!!!

To avoid confusing other AppGuard users and Blue Ridge enterprise prospects that evaluate consumer AppGuard prior to the enterprise version, we are only announcing and only mentioning this beta here at Wilders. You will see no mention of this beta on our website. Plus, I want to limit the beta to savvy Wilders folk who tend to provide better feedback and can better handle issues if something unforeseen should occur.

So, here is the URL to download the install file:

AppGuard Beta - Computer Protection from Malware AntiVirus Misses

The SHA1 checksum for this install file is:

    c8bd88954fcd7b60152b18ae275156e72b346559

The beta AppGuard anti-malware software release notes, which are rather 'beta' themselves (my apologies) detail AppGuard change history and the latest features and enhancements.

There are some settings in this AppGuard beta that do not thrill me. Rather than tell you, I thought we might liven things up by NOT telling you what they are. I'll send a Blue Ridge golf shirt to the first person that posts similar regards. Perhaps we'll uncover others, which would represent a resounding 'I told you so' to new people at Blue Ridge. Wilders enables vendors to make their offerings better!

Well, I'm heading home now and will be offline for about an hour or two. I'll check in later to answer whatever questions I can. Those I cannot would have to wait until tomorrow when the engineers are around. Thanks to all participants!!!!

    Cheers,

    Eirik

Excellent! How long is the beta license good for?

Read the beta notes and I must say that BRN's beta release notes are some of the most detailed release notes I've seen. Some nice additions in this version...I will be trying it out very soon.

I've found an annoying bug already. I noticed my Avast! ball kept rotating even when I wasn't doing anything. I went to the file shield and two files per second are being added to the recycle bin, and they are being scanned. I'm assuming it's AppGuard since it hasn't happened until I installed it minutes ago.

They are all .lnk files with random sequences of numbers.

I'll let other people test this program.

Dowloaded and installed with no issues so far. I like some of the new changes. Anxious to use for a few days and put this beta thru its paces!

We're looking to go final/production later this month. Its not meant to be a long beta. With making significant driver changes, we felt it prudent to conduct a beta in search of unknown, unknowns amongst a more diverse array of PC systems than we can test internally.

    Cheers,

    Eirik

AppGuard 3.1.3.1 is functioning fine here in Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. I did have a problem with Firefox opening under Sandboxie 3.56 but after I added C:\Sandbox to Customize>Guarded Apps>Folders and gave it Read/Write access everything was fine. Also, the beta notes were very helpful.

AppGuard 3.1.3.1 also runs fine along side AppLocker though I think some of their functions are duplicitous.

All in all, this beta is quite nice...at least, so far.

    Later...

Thanks Brandon. Please let us know if you're observing any blocking events related to Avast reported by AppGuard.

    Cheers,

    Eirik

Will the final version update over the beta?

Yes, just launch the production version install file and it will overwrite the beta or any other older version of AppGuard.

Excellent Beta. I upgraded over the top of 3.0.13 and it went without a hitch. Running great on 2 system. The whole program seems much faster. Love this program. :D

    Hello, Eirik:

I did install only this beta without any other security products after I had recovered the Windows 7 (x64) from the image file and so as to enable the MBRGuard I rebooted the Windows.

However, its protection still could not be enabled. I even tried this after having lowered the protection level into the install mode. Any suggestion, kindly.

    ===============================================================

Many thanks for your support as always and I did email it with the attachement, accordingly.
