A friend of mine purchased Cyberdefender from one of those TV ads. Is this software legit? I see horrible reviews and I see great reviews. I realize it is overpriced but is it actually rogue software?

Web of Trust is a program/add on that lets you know if sites are safe from spyware/phishing/adult content etc. Cyberdefender got a red rating for phishing/scamming. http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/cyberdefender.com It is a rogue program and only shows fake infections in order to scam people out of their money.

it is legit and light. I have seen it working fine in a laptop and my friend had no issues for a long time. But it used to have a very bad reputation whatsoever about being rogue or something. I would not use it though. There are planty others to use with much better reputation and abilities

CyberDefender owns both MyCleanPC + DoubleMySpeed which are both scams.
Personally I do not trust them.

That pretty much says it all. I won't touch any of that with a ten foot pole.
