I have recently installed ESS (4.2.71.2 currently), and have encountered problems with Outlook ever since. I note there have been a few threads on this subject in the past, however nothing recent. Any help would be appreciated.

If ESS is running, and I start Outlook, I will get an error message saying Outlook has stopped working. If I disable real time file system protection, Outlook will start fine, and then I can enable protection again and everything works.

This isn't a workable situation, and if there is no fix available I will have to search for alternatives. I've used Nod32 for some years and been very happy with Eset software, pity the next level of software is not as reliable as Nod32.

    System details:
    Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1
    Outlook 2010 (32 bit)
All current updates in place for both Win7 and Outlook.

V 4.2 doesn't integrate with MS Outlook 2010 so it's weird that it would be responsible for the crash.
Just in case, with MS Outlook closed disable integration with MS Outlook in the ESS setup.

It doesn't? I was sure it did.

There is always the version 5 beta. It might be worth a try.

I thought it scanned incoming but not outgoing. If that's correct I wonder if this is fixed in v5.

ENA and ESS v4.2 do integrate with OUTLOOK 2010.

Thanks for the feedback Marcos. Looks like it integrates, I have an ESS tab visible in Outlook.

Anyhow, if I untick "Enable email client antivirus and antispyware protection"
Outlook seems to be starting up fine. However, this means I am wide open to any incoming email virus, which kind of defeats the point of having AV software!

This likely to have been addressed in V5?

I have ESS 4.2... and Outlook 2010, and it's integrated just fine. has the eplgoutlook.dll in the com addins - has its own tab and is integrated into the context menu.

I use the antispam functions. I get the signatures on the bottom of emails.

As far as I can see it integrates and works with Outlook 2010 perfectly well. I'm confused as to why Marcos would say it doesn't integrate.

As for the issues experienced by fatprop, I haven't seen any issues with my setup. I have all addins deactivated, though, except for ESS and X1 (a real time search prog).
