    Hello,

often a BSOD appears when opening some Steganos safe or portable safe. Steganos says ESET is responsible for that.

    Further details:
    Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit.
Steganos Privacy Suite Version 12.0.6 (Revision 9459).
    ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4.2.42.3

I discussed the BSOD issue with Steganos for months. Cf. <http://forum.steganos.com/index.php?/topic/124-win7-privacy-suite-11-safe-oftmals-bluescreen/> (in German language). Steganos could not provide a solution but they finally said ESET is responsible for that.
Lots of details about the issue, including screenshots, are available in that Steganos thread. I really prefer not to start from scratch, repeating all the details and answering all the questions I already did in that Steganos thread for months while the BSODs still persist. Please read that Steganos thread for the details.

I kindly ask ESET to resolve that BSOD issue - if necessary by contacting Steganos directly and cooperating with them.

    Best regards,

    Hello,

As Cudni indicated, you will want to try the latest build and see if the issue persists. If it does, with an issue as storied as this, I strongly recommend that you open a ticket with ESET Support. There will be additional log files that are needed to troubleshoot the issue.

    Thanks,

    Matt

    I installed ESET NOD32 4.2.71.2.
    The BSOD issue has persisted.
I opened a ticket with ESET support.

I have exactly the same problem, i.e. I get a blue screen about 50% of the times I try to open a secure safe. I use ESET Smart Security 4.2.71.2 and Steganos Privacy Suite 12.0.8 on Windows 7 64bit, on a new computer without any other modifications made (yet).

I've read the threads on the Steganos forum, where plenty of users described the same problem, so it seems clear that the ESET antivirus program is the culprit.

However I cannot find a solution anywhere?

ESET advised me to install ESET Smart Security 5 RC and the problem now seems to be solved. Many thanks!
