if you don't mind one more question: does the web guard in IS/GP protect against malicious javascript or other similar stuff?

    Trying Panda Antivirus Pro 2012.

    Some pros:

+ Setup process was easier than before, including obtaining the trial key which didn't have to be copied and pasted from email, was activated through the interface.
+ Didn't require a reboot. Only after installing the firewall module was a reboot needed.
+ After running a full disk scan seems to be relatively quiet. Two processes are using 10mb of memory or much less, peaked at 100mb when running the full scan. But otherwise seems to be very light.
+ Layout is easy to use. Like how users can check for windows updates from the AV interface. Help file is very thorough, if you are needing to create a rescue cd and so on.
+ Like the smart firewall allowing common programs to have outbound only. Good to see this is included in the AV.
+ Default settings don't seem to need to be changed for most users.

For those interested in youtube reviews, Languy did a review including installing the virtual browser, although we know it's just a personal review, MBAM/Hitman Pro follow-up scan found 1 additional file from 250+ malware files. First couple of files which got through, may have been just unwanted programs.

just trying PAV 2012,facebook promo :D not firewall installed.

One problem that was really annoying me,it said "no firewall turn on" on start-up. It appears ~15 secs then gone.

It also happens when I tried Panda Cloud couple months ago.

any thought ? I am in XP Pro SP3

    thank

Re: Panda Anti virus Pro 2012 11.00.00

If I purchase Panda Internet security 2011 (Amazon £25.00) can I upgrade to 2012 free of charge or do I have to pay for upgrade? I have searched pandas site and goggled but could not find the answer.
    Thanks

yup, you'll need to register the key on pandasecurity.com first before installing the product, and the system will automagically upgrade the key to work with the latest product. after you've registered, you can then download the 2012 product and input the key, your email address and your newly assigned client number in the product. if you've previously had a panda product, you can merely log in to your client account and register the new key, and the same upgrade will take place on the back end, allowing you to use the newest product.

here's the registration link - pretty sure this is the worldwide site (not just the USA)
    http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/support/register/

P.S. if the 2010 product is still available and cheaper than the 2011 product, you can always get that instead and it'll work the same. just register the key first so it gets upgraded.

all hotfix installations will backup themselves into [InstDir]\Hotfix. run them and you can see their changelogs.

I tried it a few days and what I don't like is:

    1) It took nearly 10 seconds to open the main GUI when you click on the panda icon :( I haven't seen such a sluggish behaviour in any other AV ...

    2) The windows firewall asked me several times to allow Panda connections - but why? Other AV (AVG/Avira/Avast) don't ask for any settings in the firewall ...

Don't get me wrong - I like Panda, but I really think Panda Cloud AV is the best product of Panda :)
