Used to really like BitDefender, so I finally tried the Beta. For me it still slows browsing too much. Maybe the final version will be better but not holding my breath.

I hope they improve performance; that's the only part of last year's AV-Comparatives they did bad on, but I believe they did worse on it than any other AV, tying with Norman, PC Tools, and Trend Micro, but I believe its score was the lowest.

It looks like BitDefender is seriously progressing and moving in the right detection this year, after years of having just a good engine, they finally bother making it actually a good product.

I second that :doubt: If you like their engine you could use Bullguard :)

To be honest I like F-Secure more than BullGuard. But I seriously hope, like I stated before, that this version finally makes BitDefender a good product instead of just a good engine.

Re: BitDefender 2012 Beta - Not so good and roved from my system

Installed and removed after a short trial that unfortunately was disappointing. Had high hopes and acknowlege this is beta version but found Outlook '07 became unstable and at times unlaunchable, Win7 boot times longer and web access slower. Uninstall left lots of debris :thumbd: in the registry as well as in program folders that was sucessfully handled by using Revo for the unstall. Recommend waiting a while longer for the beta to mature bf you try.

I'm really hoping they release an English free version with on-access scanning.

Now i cannot even install it. The installation process is broken with some corrupt files.

    Thanks.

looking at their feedback forum, i remember why i hate when companies offer incentives to get feedback on betas. nearly all legitimate bugs/feature requests are totally obscured by people posting the same non-issues over and over, and complaining they're not getting attention from moderators. bleck.

i mean, i understand why they do it - to encourage people to provide feedback, but how is it helpful when 90% of the feedback is worthless?

I do not think they will do that. If you want BD engine for on-access scanning, you can choose a free AV that uses BD's engine:D

As seen in their forum: "Beta 2012 coming soon" instead of "Beta 2012 Beta". :D

    Wooow.
